    Gangnam Style?

I went to a few alternative rock shows at City Gardens in the late 1980s: They Might Be Giants, Lemonheads, Camper Van Beethoven, Ween (as teenagers!), Dag Nasty, 7 Seconds, The Ramones and Soundgarden were just a few of the acts I recall. Have you folks seen this upcoming film on City Gardens?

    Pine Barrens Canoe Trip

I wish the author provided some more specifics on where they actually paddled. Perhaps they paddled the Mullica River downstream of Atsion, but then the author writes that they "canoe[d] four different rivers" all in a weekend. I posted here before that I paddled the Mullica in June from...

When's a good time to avoid snakes

joc is correct. Garter snakes have a yellow stripe running down each side of their bodies.

Great Swamp gala will honor tireless conservation advocate

Drexel has a small field office on the Warren Grove bombing range property. The students were probably doing some field work on pine snakes, as I know that they have at least 1 snake equipped with a radio transmitter.

    A new Pinelands book?

The author is the person behind www.pineypower.com. She is a very nice lady.

Great Swamp gala will honor tireless conservation advocate

Thank you for posting this, Teegate. I've known Dr. DeVito for many years and will be at the Great Swamp Gala tomorrow night. In fact, often when I try and call him on his cell phone, he is "somewhere in the Pine Barrens." We have had many great adventures in the pines looking for pine...

    Living with the Snakes

"She [Jeanne Gural] said no snake bite has been reported in New Jersey for many years" She forgot this well-publicized incident from last June...

    Invasive Species Strike Team

Just look around at the fields of Japanese knotweed or Nepalese stiltgrass that grows just about everywhere on the East Coast and has crowded out native species. Unfortunately, the deer don't eat the stuff. I wish they did....it may solve some of the problem. If the Asian Longhorned Beetle...

The Mullica, Atsion to Pleasant Mills. A PBX paddle.

I think I fixed it. It's a shot of the old CRRNJ tracks ....I think where they cross the Batsto River.

I love those photos. My 9 y.o. son drags me out to the PB every Spring to look for amphibians. We have not been as fortunate as you.

    upcoming railroad repair?

thebluecomet.com is a fantastic Web Site with lots of info and photos of South Jersey railroading. Unfortunately, the site was recently taken down and the owner is unsure if he lost many of his photos that were posted at his site.

The Mullica, Atsion to Pleasant Mills. A PBX paddle.

We paddled this trip back in June...it was my Father's Day gift to myself.;) We battled lots of low water and dozens of hidden tree stumps between Atsion & the Mullica Wilderness Campground. I think my wife was longing for a dry, comfortable beach chair and a frosty cocktail after 5 hours on...

    South Jersey

I have relatives in Seaside Park and if you go by sports teams, the display of Yankees, Mets, Giants and Jets paraphernalia in the Seaside/Toms River area definitely outnumbers stuff for the Phillies and Eagles, IMHO.

    The Dog

Well since we're on the topics of dogs, here is mine waiting for me to carry her over Quaker Bridge. She doesn't like the grates. She loves to swim, so perhaps it was too cold when I shot this photo and she didn't want to wade across the river.
