    Controlled Burning

Oh, I missed that. I just watched it. There wasn't much left of it when I drove down. Just a few small smoky spots. First time I drove down that road. It's a fun drive from Atsion Road back to Waterford. Here's a shot of what remained.

    Controlled Burning

I drove down Sandy Causeway through Waterford yesterday and came upon some smoldering remnants of a burn. Also, there was this dirt trail next to it. Is this a firebreak?

Awesome shots! I was at Forsythe this weekend as well and did the same, stopped at FPP in the way back.

Is this in Waterford? I think I turn off that road sometimes to get home from 206.

    Winter Photos

I hope everyone is staying safe in this storm. I can't wait to get out and take some photos when the roads are better, and I shovel my Jeep out. I have some old snowstorm photos to share from when I lived in Brigantine during Winter 2017/2018. I also published a post recently with some more...

Thanks for the welcome! Tragic story. I'm actually familiar with Holy Cross cemetery. My maternal grandparents are buried there.

EHC is trying to redevelop part of the city lake park into a warehouse

I just viewed this recording of a meeting of Sustainable EHC, the city's green team. Link below. It's long, but if you go to about the 1:20 mark, there's a great in-depth discussion about the history of the park and details about the current plans from citizens of EHC. I learned a lot from this...

EHC is trying to redevelop part of the city lake park into a warehouse

I have a friend who lives in Egg Harbor City I have a feeling there might be a big turnout. I have a friend in Egg Harbor City who thinks this is a horrible idea. That says something because she tends to support development efforts, but she loves her park.

    Tabernacle Inn

This place sounds like it has a great history! A disco in the pines, that's awesome. Maybe we can convince the new owners to do 70s disco nights. I had to Google Steak 38. Never heard of it before. It's the one in Cherry Hill? Their menu looks yummy but pricey.

    Tabernacle Inn

I've heard a rumor from some friends that the Tabernacle Inn on Route 206 has been sold. I know it's been closed for a while, but I don't know much about it's history. If the news is correct, I don't know who bought it or what the intended use for it is. Does anyone else have any info?

Industries in the Pines - Ghost Towns

Yes, I have! Like with my friend Barbara Solem, I met him on one of his tours. He's a nice guy and has a wealth of knowledge about the area. Barbara told me that he frequently helped her when she did her Ghost Towns tours. Barbara decided not to do her bus tours any longer so she gave Jeff her...

Pine Barrens Jamboree October 9, 2021

I met Barbara when I did her Ghost Towns bus tour in 2019. Very cool lady, and she knows so many people in the Pine Barrens! She's been inspiring me to start writing about the area.
