Changes IN NJ State Park Regs

What? I can't shoot any more rockets off in the pine barrens? What's next? Are they going to ban me from transporting my rockets on a boat trailer on the parkway? :D

    Kayakers Needed

That's a worthy endeavor. Unfortunately they scheduled it during the week, when I'm at work. There's a spot on the Wading River about 1/4 mile north of Evans Bridge that you can access from the road. I went back there a few days ago and noticed that there's a small clearing on the opposite...

Here's a good laugh for ya....

LOL! I'd like to say that I have learned my lesson, but I just spent $63 on ebay for top water minnow lures that I discovered swim crooked. Unless I can find a pond where the fish are used to seeing baitfish staggering around drunk, these lures are pretty much going to be useless. :bang:

Here's a good laugh for ya....

I applaud people who come up with a business idea like ebay and are able to bring it to life and make a profit from it, but I have disdain for people who have no ethics about the way they make money. I learned about ebay's business ethics the hard way. I purchased a $1,000 retractible bed...

    BIG spider

When I'm hiking after dark in Nov-Dec in the pines, I see those spiders (wolf spiders? - not sure) Their eyes light up a flourescent blue color when the light from my headlamp hits them. It looks pretty cool when there's bunch of them on the ground in front of me.

Who wants to go bigfooting with me??

Adam, assuming Bigfoot isn't like a lot of my clients and goes to Florida for the winter, I'll go out there one night with you...but not until tick season is over. I am not afraid of a 9' tall gorilla in the pines, but I am afraid of a deer ticks because I know all too well what they can do to...

Who wants to go bigfooting with me??

It seems curious that somebody would want to look for Bigfoot after dark when he will be hard to see and difficult to photograph. Is anybody sure that this isn't former NJ governor Jim McGreevy trying to lure men out into a secluded spot in the pines after dark? lol :D Sorry, Adam...I couldn't...

Seventeen hundred dollars for a used rock? Anybody who would pay more than $1,000 for a second hand rock is nuts! :D

    batona trail hike

I can handle being lost. It was the possibility of turning into a popsicle in the 15 degree temperature while I was getting unlost that concerned me. lol :D

    batona trail hike

I learned that the hard way. I was hiking back towards to my truck in Bass River after dark one winter evening and realized I had walked off the Batona Trail. Rather than back-track my steps, like I should have, I pressed forward, figuring I was moving in the right direction. To make a long...

    batona trail hike

One bit of advice I would give to anybody who is hiking the Batona Trail for the first time is to keep an eye on the pink blazes. There are a lot of fire lines and some dirt roads that intersect with the Batona Trail and it is very easy in a few spots to miss some turns and walk off the trail...

    Sasquatch in the Pines

You better hope that doesn't happen because then I won't tell anybody. Here's why... Interview being filmed for television Reporter: "What did you see today?" Old Crazy: "I saw Bigfoot." Reporter: "Where did you see him?" Old Crazy: "I was hiking the Batona Trail about two miles...

    Sasquatch in the Pines

Chapter 10 of that book is, "What To Do If You See A Bigfoot" Put the cork back in the bottle, that's what you do. lol :D
