    Fox in my sleep

In which my slumber is curiously disturbed. Already to bed too late last eve', I was pulled from sleep slowly by that hellish wailing noise we have discussed here before. It started as if in my dreams and became real when my wife nervously woke me up. 3:50 A.M. the digital lear of the clock...

    Blue Fishing

Back in the day when we kept pigs on the Elm property, only ever 2-3 at a time(easy to manage), one of the treats aside from all the other fun butchering stuff I'll spare you was the cutting and readying of the hams and such other parts as to be smoked. My dad prepared them in brines of varying...

    Light Pollution

Light pollution is a real factor today and proof of a growing need to be aware of the environment. I am no special interest wacko, but am reasonably well informed up as a member of the "Green" effort for our company, vendors, and customers in my place of work. Without being extreme, there are...

The Demise of the Short Horn Buck Club

I'll go with Bob's being likely yet I'll go one step and say older yet. Look at some of the stuff you read of or see pics of even farther back. Some "gun clubs" were hilarious by definition in the 20's, 30's etc. Heck, most seemed a social gathering place and if you killed something in between...

    barren nights

In this last pic you've achieved a surreal look as though the brushstrokes of the artist can be seen in the image. A painting one might see on the homestead wall. Is it real or is it Bill at work again? Awesome. I could sit in that spot and stare all day. g.

    Am I alone?

? Any vast knowledge I have certainly doesn't relate to the pines. A novice I am at best. You are a very disturbed being. I do however say for the sake of the thread, I spent many a year with a unit in the bedroom only so even that back in 2000 I dropped big $$$ to have an A/C system...

    Am I alone?

Boyd, Do not knock the 220v air conditioner. Even if it is an old dog, which indeed can be costly, 220v keeps the amperage down which taxes your service. Many misconceptions. In the end yes wattage consumption is relevant to the amperage of the machine (Volts x Amps of course equal watts)...

    Ft. Dix Bomark Site information....

The fact that you were even able to commit such a heinous act of such ignorance and recklessness and are still here to write on it tells me that Jerseyman is getting soft in his elder years. I would think by now you'd be swimmin' wit da fishes in the river. You'd have been better of stealing it...

You'll just never get over that Atco thing will you. It's o.k., don't be ashamed. Hold your head high as you say "I'm from Atco and I'm proud of it". A little denial never hurt anyone. g.

Old Tractor by Boot Hill Deer Club

Fantastic tractor! Sitting here on my computer desk is a frame with two angles of it. One is in my gallery. It has fascinated me from the first time I saw it. My dad has 3 John Deere and an Allis Chalmer, two 1960's Jacobsens, one we still push snow with and has had many others. I too love an...

    The Ramble Inn

Janet, Thank you. All that fits with my Uncle's recollections. The big fireplace, The approximate location, it's eventual demise (he blames the fireplace and also believes it's remains exist) Their high school years were the late 60's so there you go. The only thing left is the story of...

    The Ramble Inn

Well, I guess that continues to paint a picture of the kind of haunts I used to frequent. They really had a goodly selection of Pool tables though and Monday's all you can eat Spaghetti & Meatballs for like 6 bucks. Scott, My mind is shot and all mixed up with these many haunts. I...

    The Ramble Inn

True Bob, There are and have been some real Beauts. Most of the really good ones are gone now. I played pool for a couple way back when that would make the bar in "Roadhouse" look tame. Some years ago, I lived in Mays Landing for 5 months (a chick thing). I became very fond of a place...

    The Ramble Inn

Not to jump in on the hijack of my own thread but, This has perplexed me in the past. I have always heard of a Silly Gator bar somewhere out that way but there was one on 561 in Winslow some years ago as well. I went there often when I was younger. Interesting place, till it burned. I was of...

    The Ramble Inn

Like my ownself, I figured you wouldn't have it direct but suspected you would have some old blood out there that knew. Scary part is, they probably might have all been in there together at one time or another. Too cool! I get the feeling coming from your way you would pick it up by coming in...
