I'll work on that. I wonder if the fact that there are ruins of a saw mill on the Dunnfield Trail (I've never seen it or don't rember it if I did) would spark the interest of others. Steve

    Bog Bodies

I remember reading an article in National Geographic many years ago on that topic. The bodies were very well preserved by the bog. I bet Ariadne can shed some light. Steve

Things that shouldn't be done in the Pines.

I'd rather smell/step in horse duty any day over dog duty. Maybe I should make this a poll. Steve

Ummm....because it's funny? Just like WAMBA's post about Will Ferrel, Farrel, Firil, what ever, was funny. I don't think he was knocking anyone for their spelling. I just think he saw a good opportunity and took it. Laughter will help you live longer you know. Steve

    Ruins ID?

Sue, I have no problem with caching. It's fun. I've done it. Wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Just think some places are best left alone. These ruins get enough traffic as it is and to bring so many more people to them is not good. Every time those foundations are touched by human hands adds...

That's right. If you noticed I'm not arguing.

    Ruins ID?

Here is the artical. Like I said, not a cacher but a human being, which cachers also are. Steve

    Ruins ID?

Stu, Any time you point out someones spelling in discussions like this it just proves how weak your argument is. Also, just because Bob quoted you doesn't mean he's coming down on you. He was only responding to your post. Hell, Bob doesnt dislike all caches. I've done some caching and he likes...

    Ruins ID?

Stu, You love the Pines, I love the Pines, we all love the Pines. That's why we're here. Unfortunately there are some that don't care squat about the Pines and it's treasures. These are the folks we worry about. Maybe some cacher comes along and thinks "Gee, these stones from this foundation...

    North Jersey hikes

Maybe we can plan to do the 3.75 mile hike up the A.T. to Sunfish Pond and return via the Dunnfield Creek trail (3.5 miles). Those familier with the creek trail will agree it is beautiful with a couple of fun crossings. With travel time it's an all day affair. Steve

ATV rider shot in North Jersey!

He'll have to get some serious wall anchors to hang that trophy on the wall. Steve

Broke Jeep, This is just a discussion about Tom Brown and wild dogs were mentioned. It's not about you. You information was very interesting and appreciated and it's too bad you took WAMBA's funny the wrong way. Everyone has moved on. Steve

    Ruins ID?

That is one of the reasons we hesitate about mentioning places like that on this site. While I'm sure you and many of other geocachers are respectful of sites like that, I am also sure there are some that are not. A friend of mine who caches told me of one cacher that liked to drive as close as...

I saw a pack back in the 70's but it wasn't in the Pines. It was in Pennsauken on Westfield Avenue not too far from Camden. There were 5 or 6 of them and looked pretty mangy. I guess when they're in towns they're called strays and not wild but they were pretty scary looking just the same. Steve
