    North Jersey hikes

What happened to the N. Jersey forum??? A friend and I headed north on Sunday for a couple of hikes. First we went to Wildcat Ridge WMA up in Hibernia. That was just a short hike of about 1.5 mile round trip. The purpose of that hike was to view raptors at the hawk watch there. We saw a...

So you're by yourself on your birthday?

Yeah, I had no problem with 30, nor with 40. Turned 50 this past June. That was weird for about a week but now I'm over it. Steve

4/1/06 - Revisiting the Forked River Mountains

That path was there when I first visited the site almost 2.5 years ago and I think that was not TOO long after you first visited. Anyway, it looks like a deer trail so no biggie. I guess the best thing to do is to not use the path for future visits. That would give it a chance to fill in. Steve

    Question

Could have been the annual Wild Dog Convention. Last year I saw 2 strays at Hawkin's Bridge camping area. They were very ematiated and looked at me like I would make a good meal. One looked like a Rottweiler and was quite scary looking. I reported them to the ranger station but they...

Weird New Jersey = Dumb Daughter

Well I did manage to chew her out with out cracking a smile. She's grounded until further notice and the house is getting a spring cleaning. She's a good kid and this is the first (and I hope last) time she's gotten into any kind of trouble. I can't even remember the last time I had to...

Weird New Jersey = Dumb Daughter

To tell you the truth I think it's pretty funny but I still have to give it to her when she gets home :jeffd: . I hope I can do it with a straight face. What bothers me the most is that she went on a "road trip" without my permission. One of the parents of one of the other kids is going up to...

    Happy St. Patrick's Day

Take it east Strom, sit back, have a pint. It is true, we Americans love a good excuse to party. And it's not only St Patrick's Day. In recent years I've noticed that Cinco di Mayo is becoming more and more an occasion to party around here. I think, OK, more Mexicans in the area so more...
