    The Summit

Guy, Thanks yet again! ( you bugger ) for good info and cool picks on a topic. As far as trekking in, I've entertained it a time or two on the way home but I am either wanting just to get home or at the entrance, John Law is parked anxiously awaiting the chance to pounce on wrong do-ers of...

    Corzine won't veto Pinelands project

Only a matter of time. It'll all be screwed soon enough. Like I stated in another thread, I am not as afraid of the damage of ORV'S and ATV's, etc. as I am terrified of Development and Discard ( which oft go hand in hand ) G.

    The Summit

Most excellent sledding gig !! My work is just a hair West of there. As is Long-A-Coming's Summit. I was just about looking right at it and missed it. It's real close to the border though. That does indeed put Pine Hill at #2 with Summit being a tie or close third.

    The Summit

I work right in an office park there. I would be cautious. The goings on you see signs of might make for trouble for you if John Law finds you in there. Now, elevation?? Just messing around a little on Topo, not taking it as the absolute gospel, It is really only within 10 feet difference...

    Accidents

Guess It's Not And Accident But..... My wife's van caught fire yesterday. Just stepping out to lunch when she called from on the way back from a show with all my kids. She pulled into a WaWa nver made it to a parking spot, called me while pulling the kids out letting me know there was smoke...

    Chigged.

I have done the very same years ago! Thank goodness the Jersey shore is so close. The salt water ( From the Sea ) does wonders, also good for poison ivy. That remedy was told to me years ago so I figured, why not try it on Chigger Itch. Also hint regarding Chlorine. I had a pool before and if...

    Campers at Columbus?

Just had a chance to read that last story. Fascinating, almost melancholy yet inspiring tales of youth regarding places so close. This is moot but I can only say that am so sorry for the sadnesses of your tale. I couldn't imagine. Thank you so much for writing. g.

    Gaging Stations

Good to know it served it's purpose. Seems a shame though, I would think it would be a usefull ongoing reporter. I know where the Albertson branch unit is and unless I am just plain Dumb about the locations and their impact, my money would be on keeping the Pump Branch unit operational. I just...

    Gaging Stations

Took my boys for a little walk out to this on Saturday.Seems fine, area is clear, Path up to it is clear. The water was up a little more than usual and this particular station reported-confirmed that fact with accuracy when I checked the site. Still don't get why they would shut it down. The...

Editorial: ORV Use in the Pine Barrens

I don't think you'll ever have a consensus on this in a group of people so large and diverse. A shared agreement is tough in any concern. Notice, no real Herper input here. And if it is relevant I respect their concerns. Their love of the pines is most considered due to the impact of Flora and...

    Interest Check - NJPB T-Shirts

Just some thoughts, some years ago a close family friend was in this trade before he retired. I was fortunate to learn a bit of the politics. It seems no matter what the material quality, a run of one gross gets you a good number. Your 20 bucks seems a bit high, although I would buy it anyway...

A little dry humor. I am totally in agreement. There is a lot of damage that needs some addressing. I love my woods too. It would be great if we really were all on the same team.

In the case of your 1 foot enduro trail.... about 8-1/4 miles if the chart that I checked is right. C'mon, I can wreck 3 times that in less than half the distance. Give me a jeep and I can cut it down to about an 1/8th. Get me a serious 4WD from like a J-Devil 4WD site and I can really get that...

    Gaging Stations

Hope I get this right, but it's right on the Pump Branch thread from awhile back in Trips, Get togethers... http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nj/nwis/uv...cd=00065,00060 USGS # 0140940810 PUMP BRANCH NEAR ELM N.J. I may go check out the station to see if anything is up.

I guess due to it's relation to water movement in the Pine's environment, I'll put this here. Ever since Scott & Guy tuned me on to the USGS site, which is cool for checking the stations that are all over out there, I've been looking at my local stream. It is now posted that this site will be...

If I Had Any Sense At All........ I would stay off this thread. But I'm short on sense right now. Interesting article Ben. Couple small points though. I believe the tide has turned regarding the "type" of engines employed in ATV's. More four strokes are being used, produced and the technology...
