    Herman City film

All the videos seem to be from the late eighties. I didn't see anything in the five or six I watched that made me think they weren't.

    Herman City film

Really tremendous collection of videos. I love the one with the names carved in the side of the hotel. It will take awhile to watch all 118 :).

    Return To Dover Forge

Great pictures, Jim. Thanks for posting them. I need to have a look for those ruins next time I am down by the lake. Any background info on what was there?

    Best thing I saw today...

I was in Israel for three weeks back in '92, and my hosts joked that I was going to sprain my neck from swiveling it around to follow some lovely every twenty seconds. The Middle East has its charms, for sure.

    New Jersey: The Green State?

I buy it. People drive fewer miles in congested suburban settings, and even fewer in urban settings.

Oct 28 9:45 6th annual PINE BARRENS 4 WHEEL DRIVE CLEANUP

I was hoping to make it, but various circumstances both north and south of Trenton are making it look increasingly unlikely. Be careful out there and take your straps with you. If you guys had half the rain we had up north over the last three days it's gonna be swampy.

My thoughts on the SoCal fires

Also, while this set of fires was big and destructive, it's not near the worst that has happened there in the last decade. I forget the date, but the last big one burned 3900 homes.

    Monster Truck haunted hayride?

How haunted could it be with a monster truck pulling and a bunch of quads chasing?

    Broke in the New Jeep

If you have one or two light scratches and have a good arm, or two, then go after them with Meguiar's Scratch-X. It's an ablative scouring compound, which means that the grit breaks down as you rub it, so you can't overdo it. I find that Scratch-X followed by a coat of wax does a nice job. No...

    Broke in the New Jeep

QFT. Some of my best and most reliable vehicles had straight 6's. 1969 Nova. 1964 F150. 1980 Bronco. I agree with Woodjin on the paint issue. The thing is you can't drive a truck in the woods without scratching it. The other thing is most people who buy trucks never take them anywhere fun...

    What is this bug???!!!

Small cricket, maybe? That's the only thing I can think of that hops around like that.

    Broke in the New Jeep

Don't worry too much about that paint job. Unless you can catch a fingernail in them, and I would be surprised, they'll buff out. You might not ever actually buff them out, but telling yourself they will buff out is a pretty good palliative. :)

    Chatsworth Cranberry Festival

I will definitely pick up the CD next time I'm down there. I have just the one guitar at this time, and the D-18 is versatile enough to do the simple stuff I do. Plus I don't worry about banging it up because it has already been characterized. :).

Half of New Jersayans want out!

Trenton was pretty blighted, too, last time I was down there. Of course, that was ten years ago now. Has it improved?

Half of New Jersayans want out!

Actually, I think the East Coast's dump(s) are, in no particular order: New York, Pennsylvania, and the Atlantic Ocean. There are few places in NJ where you can dump anything anymore, at least legally.

    Chatsworth Cranberry Festival

Yeah, she is a great person. I've only met her once, but she was happy to chat with myself and two of my friends for almost 30 minutes :). Picked up a few books and promised to come back soon. I'll look for that CD next time I am down there, Woodjin (for the cleanup on the 28th, I think)...

Half of New Jersayans want out!

I guess that police officer is an optimist by nature. :). The east coast, particularly the northeast, is expensive. Northern NJ is significantly more expensive than pretty much any township south of Trenton. But a "joke?" I don't think so. Try any of the others between Philly and Boston. It's...

    eep Spider!

You guys should do some time in the tropics and wake up in the middle of the night with a three-inch Palmetto bug crawling up your chest :). Nah, really you shouldn't.
