Jersey Devil ultimate pop culture thread

Hmm, Denise and I were just out at Leeds Point on Tuesday. At sunset. Heard a scream. Jumped in the car and took off......... (LOL!)

    Pine Barren Flora

Yes, I guess it's been our turn in the barrel. I'm feeling great now, just need a bit more time to build up my strength. I've taken a few short hikes. I'm really looking forward to the fall.

    Pine Barren Flora

Bob, thanks for posting all these beautiful pictures. I've been laid up for awhile (seriously ill, it was close), but am almost back to normal, and aching to get out in the pines. I looked at every picture from this thread today, and really just enjoyed every one. I'll be out in the woods on my...

    Mullica Bridge On Jackson Road

I travel Atco Road everyday, it's pretty bad, I've waiting for the detour signs to go up. It see's too much traffic for a wood bridge, but I still hate to see all the wood bridges paved.

    Lenape Canoe Company

My brother Tom still has his Lenape Chief, 40+ years old. The problem is we are wearing out, not the canoe. We are both at a vintage age were we're having trouble transporting it, it's just to darn heavy. I have a Sears canoe, 15' fiberglass that only weighs 65 pounds. I bought in the tool...

    Tour Wharton ORV Destruction

Sorry, I've been out of action for a while, health wise. So for an answer to my question I get sarcasm. Is that what this site has turned into while I've been gone? Been through enough serious stuff to not have time for this. From my previous question: "I don't have all the history behind this...

    Tour Wharton ORV Destruction

I don't have all the history behind this argument against the PPA, but how did this thread go from a tour of Wharton damage by ORV's to Snowy Owls? In winter 2013-2014, I saw a snowy owl in the plains near Warren Grove. Last time I checked, that's still part of the pines. Does the PPA have some...

    Super Beaver Moon coming

Let's see, born in 1956, next super moon is 2034? I'll be 78. Nobody in my family has made it to 70 yet (on my dad's side). On my mom's side, it's dementia by their late 60's. I plan on being around for awhile, but 78 may be a stretch. I wake up and see green grass, I'm on the right side and...

Who else goes hiking with their dog?

I used to trail run and took my Springer with me a lot. I can't run anymore, and she's 14 years old now. Can't take her very far from the truck, but she loves being out in the woods. After a good frost to get rid of the chiggers, I'll be taking her out soon.

    Free Canoe!

Thanks 46er. I'll try the link and see what's out there. May have to wait a bit, though. Laid off from my job Friday. Greg

    Funny story.

Not a big deal, but the pines, and the streams and rivers, always seem offer up new things. I stopped at Chatsworth to take a few casts last week. First time ever, a small pickerel must have been chasing something, jumped out of the water and landed on my foot. First fish I've ever had jump out...

    Free Canoe!

I have the same canoe. Bought mine in 1982 at the Deptford mall Sears. I still use it (although not this year, that's another story). Looking to find a lighter one, as I'm often by myself. It weighs in at about 65 pounds. Someone told me Oldtown has a one person that is less than 50 pounds...

    Hello all!

Thanks, everyone! I still am out in the woods often. For now I take "truck hikes", staying close to my truck. It sure is nice to be out in the pines again!

    Hello all!

I've been out of action for quite a while due to some pretty bad health issues, but hope to be well on my way back to "normal", whatever that may be. Anyway, I've missed being a part of NJPB and hope to continue to get back to my old self! I'm looking forward to being an active member again...

    Hiking/camping partner

Thank everyone. Yes, I was close with all my brothers. My current best friend is my brother Tom. We both share a love of the pines. So many campfire memories, I can't begin to mention them. I cherish each and every one of them. Thanks again everyone for your well wishes. It means a lot. Greg
