    Chatsworth Lake Boat Access?

I've been fishing Chatsworth for 30+ years. Good for Pick's and Catfish, not much else. Still one of my favorite pines lakes to fish. It's a beautiful spot. As far as walking across, there are some very deep spots, be careful if wading. Greg

His field guide is now always in my truck, pack or tackle box, thanks to Bob PBX. Amazing person!

    Window Watching Notes

Wow, nice picture!. We have a Sharp Shinned that hangs around our feeder, but it never seems to sit still long enough for a good picture.

    Saving a 300-year-old tree

Unfortunately, if the utility wants it down, they normally get their way. We did a job at Rowan University a few years back and tried to get the cables routed underground. With no public meetings, the utility came in and cleared a 150ft wide right of way, which amounted to a number of old trees...

    Back to the Pines

Mine weren't good ones, unfortunately. At least the pickup didn't break down and the dog didn't die, or else I'd be writing a country song.

    Back to the Pines

Thanks all for the well wishes. Today was my first day back to work. I'm feeling well, but waiting on some test results and hope to get some answers. Until then, my big brother Tom has to chaperon my woods trips. Good thing we get along! Thanks again, Greg

    Another Deer Tick Disease

I use the "Teegate" method (lint brush), and permithrin in spring and fall. I can't lock myself in my room, I just take reasonable precautions and enjoy the pines.

Father And Two Sons Die From Hypothermia While Hiking

I've gone through stages. I almost always hiked alone in any weather. I carried a complete change of clothes, plus 2 extra pair of wool socks, double bagged in plastic. Matches and lint in the "old fashioned" fiber egg cartons for fire starter. A tarp for emergency shelter. Then, one time I fell...

    Hey! Look what I found

Thanks Jeff, seeing the pictures would be great. Brings up an interesting question, though. When is it proper to disturb articles found? As a teen, I got stuck in sugar sand, and I used some bricks scattered nearby to put under my tires to get my car out. I now believe that some of these bricks...

    Back to the Pines

All, I've been mostly off the site for a bit, but need to make a general statement that may sound strange, so bear with me. For the past few months, I've been slowly developing a medical condition that causes very vivid hallucinations. If I posted anything inappropriate, or sent out any personal...

    Offshore Wind Developer

Where I'm presently employed, we've installed many different types of alternative energy sources (wind, solar, geothermal, land fill landfill methane, etc). However, all these sources are not constant (reliable). We still need the big plants (coal, nuclear, etc...) to maintain the...

    Atlantic City Electric energy source

You might be on to something. Get a lot of "methane producers" in the same room, and away we go :)

    Atlantic City Electric energy source

I think "captured methane gas" is methane from landfills that is being used to run gas powered generators. Our company has put in 8 in the last 2 years.
