    Bitten by Tick?

The one that got me. As I have learned from this forum, ID the tick and get on antibiotics asap. I am feeling much better and have almost no symptoms which were joint pains, shooting pains and severe stiffness.

Surviving alone in Alaska: Vice Magazine (Video)

A 52 minute documentary where a film crew visits an older couple, Heimo and Edna Korth, who live in the Brooks Range of Alaska. They fish, trap, hunt and skin a bear. I enjoyed it. Surviving Alone in Alaska

    Say it ain't so

I believe this is the sand pit area located north of 72 that has been for sale for years. http://maps.njpinebarrens.com/#lat=39.78446587637341&lng=-74.3265438079834&z=14&type=h&gpx= It already has Pinelands approval for several residential lots. I don't like the idea of this at all.

    Pgymy Pines Hike

I have been grooming a fairly big (bigger than a dinner plate) patch of Pixies for the past five years. Essentially keeping rocks, branches/twigs, shotgun shells and junk off them for photography. I tried to put the arrow right on them to locate on your hike. Cheers.

The Lure of the Land - A photographic journey through the pine barrens, New Jersey’s

Great stuff Chase! One memorable moment for me there was hiking a few miles from the basin by myself and heading up some steep switchbacks when the ground started to rumble and shake. I thought it was an earthquake but it kept getting louder and more intense. I walked up to the next switchback...

Just to update. The turtle was in the same exact spot today but moved about 6 inches and managed to get one eye open but the other was still closed and pussed. Also a photo of a healthy one for comparison.

I left him. Better off recycled into the system than wasting energy on him. I ended up helping my dog from this location so my mind was not functioning properly.

Controlled burn Stafford Forge. The same field as last year burnt again. There ain't no natural process being mimicked here. I am sure there is some double plus good BS excuse to explain it though. Fairly good sized painted turtle eyes burnt shut, body blackened, shell de-laminated. Still alive...

Just When You Thought It Was Over

Thanks everyone. That was actually the sound in the song I just timed to her putting her nose to the camera (my younger dog - 11). But actually my older dog is 16 and these times are tough. She falls a lot and has trouble standing. With the warm day today she was huffing it when I took them...
