Samuel Howell, Jr. of Hanover Furnace

Are you referring to Benjamin Howell of the Howell Ironworks? If so, in all of my research I haven't ever come across a connection between Benjamin Howell and the Hanover Furnace. I suspect that Benjamin and Samuel were cousins, but I need to comb through the genealogies and do some more...

Samuel Howell, Jr. of Hanover Furnace

Hello everyone, I haven't posted in a while, but I came across an item some here may find of interest. While researching some genealogy of the Jones/Howell families I came across a book published in 1898 with a photo of Samuel Howell, Jr. in it. Samuel was a part owner of the Mount Misery Saw...

    Interesting new Beer Concoction

Pretzel City Brewery (possibly going out of business) makes an excellent double chocolate stout. Also, I have found Lancaster Brewery's Milk Stout to be one of the best beers I have ever enjoyed. Both of your concoctions sound good.

    New Jersey Session Laws

Jerseyman, I have been using the Rutgers Law website for about a month now and am very pleased with it, but as you have mentioned, it isn't searchable which makes research tedious at times. I wasn't aware that google books offered any of these...thanks for the heads up. Tom

Acts of the General Assembly of New Jersey Hey all, I have been perusing the session laws of New Jersey and thought some might find this of interest: http://lawlibrary.rutgers.edu/cgi-bin/diglib.cgi?collect=njleg&file=003&page=0049&zoom=90 Any others I come across, I will post links to...

Why can't I lose this gut?

Yeah, it was a disturbing documentary...very sad. Along the same lines as Super Size Me is a book called Fast Food Nation...disgustingly insightful.

Why can't I lose this gut?

While this isn't really inline with the content of this thread, I thought I would ask and/or suggest nonetheless. Has anyone had the opportunity to watch the Independent Lens documentary on PBS of the two gentlemen that leased one acre from a corn farmer in Iowa and then planted and followed...

Yes, that was another character flaw. As far as preserving the Republic, though, he is second only to Jefferson and for that he deserves great respect.

After some investigation, it appears that the quote is either not authentic or is not verbatim, as the term unemployment appears to have not been coined until the latter half of the 19th century. I had taken it for granted as it has appeared numerous times...sorry. Regardless, the struggle...

Enoch, I don't have the original source and perhaps Jerseyman can shine some light on it. I, too, have come across it on numerous occasions during my research on the international banking cartel and the Federal Reserve. If it isn't a genuine Franklin quote, then I regret using it...

If you want to fix run away government and the need to continually expand corporate earnings, you must get rid of the central bank, it's fiat currency and fractional reserve banking. Both Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson were staunchly opposed to the central bank and the corporations that...
