Large stone and the F4 crash

I never knew a F-4 crashed in the Pine Barrens. Evidently this is a different crash than the one at Bear Swamp Hill. I was always a big fan of the F-4 Phantom, any info on where it came from etc...?

    "Medford Pioneering Township"

I am not a member but I think my aunt and uncle are. They used to be very involved with the MHS and probably could answer a lot of questions. I know they used to own Friendship Farm out on Fostertown Road which I believe is the oldest house in Burlington County.

    "Medford Pioneering Township"

I have a copy of that book if anyone is interesting in reading it. I have a couple books by the Medford Historical Society, all written in that time period. There is some good information, especially on Meford and Burlington County.

    Gas prices.

My sister has a CRV and I love the little sport utility. It does everything she needs it to do and more. The dog fits right in the back. If you don't get too crazy it can go down most roads in the Pine Barrens. I was surprised at some of the stuff it went through. As for rotary engines, I...

    Gas prices.

Just wondering. Are high gas prices limiting your exploration of the pines? It is for me. Living in Haddonfield, it's not as easy as it once was to trek out to places like Batsto and other areas in the pines. :meatwad:

    Another ATV issue.

I just read a couple of :) articles about how Barnegat Townships residents have complained about a race that was held in a gravel pit a couple weeks ago. They complained about the noise and the dust etc etc. The promoter was only expecting 150 racers but ended up with approximately 300, which...

ATV rider shot in North Jersey!

I read about this on another forum and I forget which newspaper it was out of but a ranger shot an ATV rider the other day. It took place up north in Ringwood State Forest. I don't know all the details, so I'll try to find out more. Another round of Ranger vs. ATV.

ATV accident prompts drive for tougher law

Seems like I always have to throw in my 2 cents with this stuff. There is an ATV race this weekend in the Barneget area. I spoke to the guy that runs it and he said it has been extremely difficult to get this race past the Pinelands Commission. He added that he has had no difficulties at all...

    Interesting find.

I noticed on CNN's website in the Money section that Shamong, Tabernacle and Southampton are ranked 8,9 and 10 for the least polluted towns in the USA. If you go to CNNMoney.com and look at their Best Place to Live 2005 section and look at the "Hot List" you can find it there. I don't know how...

Monroe Residents Out To Squash ATV Park

Sorry to add on again but the above sales figures only accounts for ATV's, it DOES NOT include off-road motorcycles. So you can imagine how many off-road type vehicles are sold in NJ.

Monroe Residents Out To Squash ATV Park

Food for thought: 2005 ATV sales in New Jersey: 9,175 In NJ, approximately 25 ATV's were sold each day last year. NJ ranked 32nd in ATV sales in 2005. A total of 813,893 ATV's were sold in the US in 2005. In NJ, one new ATV sold per every 948 residents. According to Dirt Wheels...

Monroe Residents Out To Squash ATV Park

I guess us ATV riders have to chime in when we read articles like this. I'm not sure what hasn't been said yet on this subject but personally I'm just about fed up with this state. I think I have come to the conclusion that if you want to ride, go somewhere else, NJ isn't the place for you...

    Searching for Jemima Mount.

My mistake, I went out on Friday, not Sunday. Not sure why I said Sunday, must be losing it already. So that makes more sense see the hunters out on Friday.

    Searching for Jemima Mount.

After spending so many years in the pines I couldn't believe that I never once visited Jemima Mount. So this past Sunday I decided to take a ride in the woods to try and discover it on my own. I was really hoping for more snow but it was still an adventure. Most of the roads were very wet and...

    Silver Fox Inn

Not sure what this has to do with the Pine Barrens but I have always wondered about it. Does anybody know the story behind the Silver Fox Inn on the White Horse Pike in Hammonton? It seems to be closed but there are always lights on in the windows and the same old Cadillac has been parked out...

ATV park plan in for bumpy ride

I plan to race some of this year and all of next years races. So if anybody is interested I can provide updates to how the races are run and additional information. I'm just glad their is an alternative for us ATV riders. I personally would rather have races like this than an ATV park, unless...

ATV park plan in for bumpy ride

As for Atco Raceway they have to be done racing at 11:30 PM, if not they are fined for each minute they go over. On Sundays they are allowed to go I think 8:00 PM. Atco Raceway was built in 1960 and their first race was Memorial Day 1960. It was also the first dragstrip in New Jersey. I know...

ATV park plan in for bumpy ride

This is definitely a hot button with me. Mr. Campbell promised 2 ATV/Off-Road Parks by the year 2005 and not one has been built. I belonged to the park in Chatsworth but haven't renewed my membership. I know it cost $300 to belong to Chatsworth, which is fine, but I like the riding in PA...

    Biodiesel anyone?

I have seen the Jeep Liberty diesel, pretty cool. I heard Ford/Navistar was developing a small diesel for midsize trucks, but it may have been canned? I have seen a few Duramax Chevy's run 12's in the 1/4 mile and that's with 35 inch tires and 4 wheel drive. I personally think the Ford and...

No more fun in the Pines

The one time that bugged me was when a ranger stopped me for going down what he called a "small side trail I wasn't supposed to drive on." The road wasn't that small and it wasn't like I was creating my own trail. I don't even drive down the tight trails b/c I don't want to scratch my truck...
