There is the 559 bus which runs along Rt.9. But are there any decent pine barrens preserves along that road? Or in Toms River?

I don't drive, however, so that's not good for me.

Well the stiff, rigid pitch pine holds up pretty well in storms like these. We got hit hard on LI too, I didn't lose power but alot of people, mainly on the north shore, did. Alot of white pine trees (as usual) fell onto power lines in those areas. Another reason they should've planted pitch...

SNOW in the LI Pines It's not alot, but we got some snow. Trails were easy to walk on, with just a light snow cover. But the roads were very icy.

Wow!:mrgreen: We didn't get nearly as much snow here on Long Island. I was out in the pines today, there was maybe an inch or two on the ground and not much on the trees. We didn't get any of the heavy, wet snow. Heavy, wet snow is the best for the snow covered pines. I'm amazed everytime...

Looks like S.Jersey is getting hammering with THUNDERSTORMS tonight. It just keeps getting weirder, t-storms in January, nuts! The good news is this storm will be bringing a chill-down to the 30s for Sun & Mon, and if we're lucky, a few inches of snow!:mrgreen:
