Red Cedars and Faden's 1777 map of NJ

Same map, different topic: Take a look at the Forks of the Mullica. Note the road extending from Burr's Mill on the Batsto River to Cripp's Mill at the Forks. It then runs to the Shore Road near Leeds Point. I'm guessing that the latter stretch is a combination of Indian Cabin Rd. and...

    Mysterious Stockton Ruins

I'd guess that the structure dates back to the cranberry operation that went on at Lake Fred. I have no idea as to what its purpose was.

Gordon must have messed up here. He simply placed the forge ruins too far up the river.

    on the road to Carranza

Jerseyman, I'm a bit confused. I was somehow under the impression that Hampton Furnace was built around 1795, but evidently it was already there in 1795? Also, have you any idea where this "Unknown Saw Mill" was?

    Could Use Some Help

I was full of shit when I said I hadn't been chigged this year. My ankles were a' itchin the morning after I boastfully made that claim.

    The NEW Beer Thread

Yes sir. Love the Bigfoot! Many fond memories were made and quickly lost while drinking that potion. Not your typical Barleywine though. Much hoppier and less thick.

It's not the fact that you're not an educated biologist. It's because you're a creationist.

    Cedar Water & Homebrew

Dogg, there isn't actually cedar in the 60 Minute IPA. Terms like "cedar" and "citrus" merely describe the tastes imparted by the hops.

I don't rightly now, Gibby, but I'd think that the oils would be released in the boil. I'll have to ask chemicalcraig if toasting before boiling offers something different by way of flavor.

    Cedar Water & Homebrew

My brothers and I brewed a Pine Ale several months back. A shot in the dark and it turned out quite good. That was with White Pine. Pitch Pine is next on the to-do list.
