Waterford Township Cleanup Day 10-14-17 08:00

I don't think anyone was in that area Bob. Shoot me a location by email and I'll try to grab it today. I know the road from your description but a pinpoint would help.

Waterford Township Cleanup Day 10-14-17 08:00

My wife and grandson participated in the cleanup today along with our Springer, Murph, who just wanted to swim in the bog and retrieve sticks. It was my first time in a very long time participating in this local cleanup. We did the Jeep/4x4 Cleanup, formerly sanctioned by Wharton, for many years...

Waterford Township Cleanup Day 10-14-17 08:00

Found this rare bottle in Pestletown during the cleanup. There's only one guy left in America that drinks Miller High Life that I can think of. His initials are bobpbx. Maybe it fell out of his backpack. ? :D

Sunrise at Wescoat Bogs Tuesday, October 10

Here is the mink making his cache full of deer innards. Mmmm, mmmmm. I was in my tree stand about 50' away watching the show. The deer guts were in the stream at this point. The property owner said he used to trap mink along this stream when he was a kid. Enlarge for more detail.

    Interesting Article about Eastern Coyote

Excellent article. Thank you for posting it. I have watched their numbers continue to rise in the pines from the time when the first roadkill was reported near here in the late 80's. I always marveled at the number of people I knew who believed the inane rumors that whirled around contending...

Sunrise at Wescoat Bogs Tuesday, October 10

I once watched a mink for over an hour down in Aura. He was building a food cache in a stump from scraps of a gut pile from a deer that my buddy had left in the woods the day before. He would chew off a piece of whatever and swim across an 8' wide stream with it, climb a maple stump and...

Waterford Township Cleanup Day 10-14-17 08:00

For those who may be interested. We are probably going to drag my grandson Luke through the woods for awhile to get him all chiggered up. :) Gotta start him sometime. Strangely, non-profit groups are eligible to receive $10.00 per participant. They lost me on that one. I hope by...

    A Nice Little Reminder

A little over a year has gone by since I took the picture of Junior in front of the sign for this post and amazingly, it is still there. Things have been noticeably better down here for awhile. There has been very little nuisance litter and no major dumpings. I like to think that increased...

    Scary kind of Wet

The outcome could have been different if the temperature was in the 20's instead of the 80's. More clothes to hamper your efforts and the cold water itself shocking your body. Be careful out there old man !

That's the challenge in grouse hunting, regaining your composure after a flush. It's a great cardiac test !

    Meat-in-the-Woods Camera

It is awesome to listen to the woods at night outside our home Boyd. We actually heard this group of coyotes yipping early Friday morning. I figured I'd have some pics on the cam after that and I was right. As for the pines in the dark, I walk out to and back from my hunting spots in the dark...

    Meat-in-the-Woods Camera

Did a little freezer cleaning last week and I placed some unwanted vittles in the woods for the timid woodland creatures to enjoy. The coyotes were very appreciative. The first on the scene was Friday at 2:01 a.m. Soon, a party of 4 were dining happily. Later that day, two returned at 6:50 p.m...
