    Camp Haluwasa Founder Dead

Thanks for posting this, Jerseyman. Guy, the camp is located around a pond on Pump Branch. I spent some time there as a kid. G, I never knew the Haluwasa was an acronym of sorts. Cool.

Good report, G. You are not alone in your contempt. The important thing is that you can still genuinely enjoy your backyard and appreciate it for the gem it is. Bob, Awesome story, and you tell it well. Props to you.

    The Sleeper; a kayaking adventure

The floodplains along the stretch of river from the Rockwood Bogs to the Wescoat Bogs have been signicantly altered by Beavers, as can be seen by comparing 1930 and modern aerial photographs; The savannahs adjacent to the stream...

    Batsto to Martha

Batona, There wasn't a mill at that location. There was a dam there, however. That dam on the Nescochague, as well as New Pond Dam on the Mullica, served to provide water power to the paper mill at Pleasant Mills Pond (a.k.a. Nescochague Lake), located here...

    Batsto to Martha

Batona, What is this old channel? Are you referring to the canal that runs from the Nescochague Creek to Pleasant Mills Pond? As for the bridge, that was built in 1853 for purposes of the train station at Elwood. I don't know when it was last used. Vandals have done their share of...
