    Merry Christmas !

Let me be the first to wish all of you a Merry Christmas. I hope that you and your families are touched by all that the true meaning of the holiday has to offer to the believer. I have met and made many true friends on this site and look forward to many more adventures this coming year. God...

    Beer (again)

Right there with the Stoudt's Double IPA and the Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA. Heavy enough to feed the homeless and expensive enough to make you homeless. :)

The Pic on 206 has excellent food and a few good beers on tap. Leinenkugel and Smithwicks are two that I know of. Their scallops are very good, as are a lot of their other offerings. They are probably bestknown for their wings. The Pic on the White Horse Pike I do not frequent and I have...

    Beer (again)

Pinelandpaddler had given me a Troegs Nugget Nectar a while ago. Man was that good! Their double bock is excellent. I was expecting an almost black beer but it is really a beautiful dark reddish amber. Each time I drink it I find different flavors hiding in the brew.

Check out these reviews. http://www.insiderpages.com/b/3718183802 The latest was 11/25/08. Maybe there is hope? I like the second one.

    Beer (again)

Well well well, where do I start ? It was a very beery weekend. I started at Canal's Friday night and put together my own sixer of micros. Here they are from "outstanding", to "pretty damn good", order. Not a loser in the bunch. 1. Flying Dog Double Dog Pale Ale. One of the best I have ever...

    Old south Jersey photos

Life was a lot simpler then. I have a lot of memories of Clementon Lake Park as it was just down the road from Gibbsboro where I grew up.

From the Chamberlain to Long Causeway

They are Tundra swans. Snows are the same size or a tad smaller than a canadian goose. You are more apt to see snows in a field feeding in the middle of the day than cruising around a pond. You will usually see snows in large flocks too, not just a few individuals. Looks like a nice little...

    Beer (again)

Here we go again wadies and genemens. My oldest son brought home an ale tonight that was outstanding, although made by frogs. Not a big fan of the frogs but always willing to down a new beer. Canal's in Berlin has a mix and match micro brew section now where you can make your own sixer at...

Try any Friday or Saturday night after 6 p.m. I think I saw it open only two weeks ago. If the beer light is lit she is open. Don't judge by the fact that there are no cars in the lot except for the ship wrecked Cadoo.

Get Together: Nov 29, 2008 - Deep Hollow, Mary Ann Forge, and Beck's Canal

Enjoy the trip everyone. You will certainly gain an appreciation for your tour guide Ben Ruset. Ben is a man that truly loves the pines and loves them enough to keep this world class website running every single day. I can't make it because my younger son is home from college and wants one...

    Spikes in the ground (lacey)

I grew up in a town with 2 gravel and dredging operations, Buzby Brothers and Tri-Boro. Tri-Boro is still active and is owned by the same company that operates Ward Sand and material off of 70. All major operations employ their own mechanics and welders who are very good at fabbing up just...

The "Bog Slog", a PBX Hike

The area in that last picture Jeff really spoke words as we were leaving the woods on Saturday. I didn't say anything but I certainly took note of it. The calm tea colored water, the quiet cathedral of cedar and the relief of some easy walking were as if the woods were saying "Enjoy this...

The "Bog Slog", a PBX Hike

Well, my biggest fear after getting a positive response from 7 other eager woodsmen was that my first planned hike would be too short in length. That did not turn out to be a problem, as it took us nearly 6 hours to cover a track length of only 2.8 miles. Much of the hike was spent tunneling...

    Deer stolen from Bethel hunter

I joke around a lot about roadkill but anyone who knows me knows that I do not hesitate, nor do my sons, to scoop up a roadie whenever possible. I count myself as fortunate because I have the ability to dress and butcher my own game. We save hundreds of dollars a year between what we kill and...
