ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

Untrue. You don't have to help implement the plan. By helping out you are complicit and therefore shoulder some of the responsibility for it. Untrue. You clearly did not read through well enough. But here, I will float my idea: a) Hire more rangers (I believe Wharton only has 2 on patrol at...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

I don't think anybody here sees the Pines as a motorsports park. This is a primary history and ecology related website. People here use those old roads to go find historic sites to research and photograph (as I did when I first started exploring the woods) or to find a nice spot to start hiking...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

So far I have not seen a mention of this on any other website. There's no press releases by the DEP, no mention on Wharton SF's page, not a peep on Al Horner's site, and not a thing on the PPA's site either. I just checked the two 4x4 web forums I remember looking at back in the day and not a...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

I think the "public forum" is just a token action. The decision to close these roads was very likely made with very little input from anybody and without any thought given to how this would affect the recreational use of public land. I really wish we knew the history and the timeline of this...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

I see your point, but does every road that is now closed lead to a spot where there's mud holes and ORV damage?

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

Signs won't work to keep the people out who break the law and trash the environment. The signs will only keep people like us on this site - people who follow the rules - out of the Pines. Nothing gets solved, nothing changes, but the powers that be get to pat themselves on the back for a job...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

The question is, who pushed to get this through the NJ DEP? The PPA? Al Horner? The video preview on Al Horner's site where it shows his truck in parked in the middle of the Pine Plains is pretty funny. Guess that can't happen anymore.

First they came for the quads, but I did not speak out for I had no quad. Then they came for the dirt bikes, but I did not speak out for I had no dirt bike. Then they came for the monster trucks, but I did not speak out for I did not drive a monster truck. Then they came for my street legal...

Can't really say I blame Manchester for stepping up patrols. It's going to be all turned into condos soon anyway.

I once partially submerged a Jeep Grand Cherokee in there. I had to jump into the lake to attach some tow straps to my truck. The water had a slick, oily feel to it - probably from all of the stolen cars dumped into it. I don't know if it's gotten better but swimming in there seems pretty gross.

The time to upgrade from 7 would be when Microsoft stops releasing security patches for it, which is January 14, 2020. Microsoft is no longer releasing security updates for Windows XP. Anybody taking an XP machine online these days is taking a very serious risk.

Review – The Domestic Life of the Jersey Devil

It's definitely one of the most refreshing Pine Barrens related books to come out in a long time.

If you don't own those photos or have permission to share them online then please don't post them. I've already had to shell out of pocket for an attorney to defend against a copyright claim from a newspaper company based on something that another user here shared. I hate to spoil the fun but...

I think that if PP started robo-calling people a good chunk of the internet would revolt and they'd be buried under a mountain of bad press. I don't really see them actually doing it. It's probably an overzealous lawyer putting it in to the agreement.
