I've heard good things about IE9, but if I had to choose between Chrome and Firefox as my primary browser, I'd choose Chrome. I'm smugly posting using Safari on a Mac, though. :)

The highest resolution it will let me go to is 480p, however the video of Bob talking in the bog looks really good.

There's also a setting on Youtube to view the videos in "HD" - as long as they've been uploaded in high resolution

Yes, the compression on Youtube is pretty bad. Maybe Google Video would work better? I think you can also upload videos to Flickr.
