    Tuckers Island returns?

I understand why it is being done but all of the effort and money just delays what will happen. It is futile. I would rather enjoy our natural beaches than to see huge bladders and such. If our coastline changes then so be it. We will adapt as we always have. I think billions can be save if...

Bunch of new outdoor products from Garmin

A walk behind aerator such as a Ryan 28 tines will penetrate around two and half to three inches and a tow behind Ryan 36" weighing five hundred pounds will easily penetrate the length of the tines, which can be five inches. I've been using both for the last three weeks. The plugs look like...

    Tuckers Island returns?

We are silly creatures. I find it amusing that they want to try and stop an ocean. How will they do that by bringing in more sand. Oh boy!

Auroras video from the International Space Station

I just had to share this short but amazing video of Auroras from space. It is surreal! It almost appears to be CGI! http://www.spaceweather.com/swpod2011/22sep11/media.mp4

    Dang It!!

FYI- If you ever find a wallet that has been lost, you can take it to the post office or drop it off in a mail collection box. The post office will place it in an envelope and mail it to the owner. They will deliver it postage due of course. I only keep cash and my license on me with a money...

    Tuesday with Alfie

I really enjoyed the sixth picture. I'm fascinated by the remains of old buildings. When I see them, I always wonder how life was when they were vibrant and full of daily routine. Good stuff!:)

    Question on Freshwater Fishing

I have seen deer grazing in the shallows just behind these two boats and to the right of the cove in the background. It was late July and early August. What a sight to see. Any ideas what the deer might have been eating? Common waterweed?

    Dumping cable tv

I dont' have any ideas for an antenna but why don't you use the internet to find and watch shows. Anything you can think of is online and available. I haven't watched a show provided by cable in over a year. There are many free channels. Google is your friend. Depending on what you like to...

    UARS Satellite Reentry

NASA reports that UARS, an atmospheric research satellite the size of a small bus, will re-enter Earth's atmosphere on Sept. 23, plus or minus one day. Not all of the spectacularly-disintegrating spacecraft will burn up in the atmosphere; debris could be scattered along a ground track some 500...

    Around Atsion And Other Things

A simple test can be your nose. If the foam smells fishy or musky than it is origins are organic.. If it has a sweet fragrance then it is caused by detergents. However even though the foam may be organic, the blooms (algae, etc.) that caused it could be the result of fertilizer run off.

Walden, or Life in the Woods

The act of moving into the pines to "find myself" was a romantic notion, as in being idealistic, amorous, or soulful.

    Mosquitoes

The Center for Vector Biology's primary function is the study of insect transmitted diseases. The funny thing is West Nile Virus is at the center of focus, along with Eastern Equine Encephalitis and many others, and yet Aedes albopictus isn't listed. Maybe the Center considers it an invasive...

Time For Wining in The Pines !

Alcoholics go to meetings and meetings are for quitters. We are drunks!;) The next best thing to homemade beer is homemade wine. Sipping whiskey can warm the gullet but can be rare. The wine festival sounds like a fun. I might have to head down to Hammonton see if they have any Riesling grapes...

    Anyone here grow their own?

Teegate, a trick that will work to keep chipmunks out of your garden is to place a small pile of sunflower seeds as far away from it as you can. They just love sunflower seeds and will go to the bait station instead of your garden. It might take a day or two for them to find it but it is worth a...

    Anyone here grow their own?

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried saving tomato seeds for replanting. If so, any tips for preparing and drying the seeds? I would like to give it a try this year and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
