Al, it worked! Both with my 60cs and Oregon 450 gpx files. Basecamp will not open the saved Easy GPS gpx file but will display it on the map. It must be stripping stuff from the Garmin file such as height, date, bearing..... If any one wants to download Easy GPS, go directly to the source...
