    Music for the day

I tell my grandson Aydan that the best thing about life is falling in love with someone and having children. That’s what life is all about. Do any of you remember the first kiss with someone you came to really love? Fantastic feeling, and nobody brings it all home like Nat King Cole. If I had...

    Music for the day

Another Kate Earl tune, a good one from her beginnings. She grew up in Alaska. Forty below, driving on deathly icing roads Back seat is full of clothes, I gotta talk this over Run out of gas, wake a stranger up to fill my tank in his pajamas I only got ten dollars I'm not drunk I wanna go...

    Meteor strikes in the Pines?

Mr. Boyd, please reconsider your stance on bringing up old threads. I get a kick out of seeing them again, and I see no harm. See if Ben approves or disapproves, and I'll follow his wishes.

While We Were Sleeping, Very Bad Things Happened

Seven Scenic Savannas Guy. Hell of a memory. I was thinking about it last night. You drove by it the easy way. https://forums.njpinebarrens.com/threads/seven-scenic-savannahs-a-pbx-hike.2378/

    Music for the day

This song is very evocative in several of the lines. When I borrowed the CD in those old days at the Main Library in Toms River, I must have played it 50 times or more. In my mind I see two guys over 25, driving nowhere in an old chevy caprice or beat up old impala, while taking the drug that...

    Years Ago Today

23 years ago today. I was 49 years old, in the plains when they were the plains, and after a fire. I loved that hat, corduroy and says Bull Durham on it.

    Years Ago Today

I know you probably had to eat out back then when working. I think I'm different from most people; I rarely eat out unless I'd dating or with the family. It's so expensive for what you get, and I don't like eating in a fishbowl setting. Also, they over-spice and over-salt everything. In my...

    Music for the day

On my mind today. What a beat, what a voice. An Elvis song that Terry did better.

While We Were Sleeping, Very Bad Things Happened

Oddly, tonight, after a big slug of apricot brandy accompanied by a german beer, I have no problem doing it 5 times. Go figure. :D

While We Were Sleeping, Very Bad Things Happened

Good job John. You did very well with your knowledge, and your even, logical argument. Jason was leaning on maintenance costs as the reason, but only because he can't point to a great amount of serious damage. I have seen many other state maps, and they call unimproved roads "jeep trails", and...

Weird low frequency rumbling yesterday afternoon

Exactly what I experienced. I even did a full walk around the house. I was puzzled, so just let it go.

    anyone do truck recovery? help!

1802! Don't often see a document that old. For cripes sake, Thomas Jefferson was only a year into his Presidency. I see "Gum Branch" shown on that document. I wish I had a buck for every branch or creek in South Jersey named "gum", cedar, or maple".
