    Pine Plains Today

Yes, a nice view indeed. This is looking east from a hill north of the FAA tower. I looked at the maps, and it is a bowl of classic plains vegetation 1/2 mile in diameter. It's like looking down into a large arena.

Pinelands Villages as Sewer Service Areas

Thank you for assembling your reply Mark. I understand better now. Where one stands on this can be influenced by the property they own, of course.

Pinelands Villages as Sewer Service Areas

So you are saying that the MOU and the SSA do not agree with each other as to which villages are subject to the new designation as a growth area, and that this is not resolved yet. Do you expect it to be resolved and made clear? In your opinion, will they include all 47 villages as growth areas...

    Are Coyotes a threat?

There's your answer Al. The guys in the first truck said to the guys in the second truck: "hey, c'mon with us, we saw a wild man in the woods. We'll show you. Have your camera ready". You surely disappointed them. :)

    Re-Wilding North America

Mark, you raise good points. Here's another point; we are part of nature, so anything we do could be considered a natural component of evolution, and we should just live with all decisions made by well-intentioned, educated scientists considered experts in their field. In other words, allow some...

    Re-Wilding North America

But, here is another way to look at it. Suppose there were only 3 white rhinos (1 male, 2 females) left in the world (regardless if true or not), and they were in some country like Zambia. Suppose Zambia would not or could not stop the poachers, and the other countries adjacent could not either...

    Where is this?

It can't be ruled out. I have a couple people who might know living in Bamber. I'll have to ask.

    Where is this?

Where they are is about 1,000 feet from where the camp was. These have to weigh a ton. It seems inconceivable they'd drag them down to the dam and put them in the water.

    Where is this?

Post 1113 shows a concrete object next to the Bamber dam. Usually it is under water, but the township (or some delinquents) are partially draining the lake. I've always fancied that it was a millstone. But, I've always doubted my guess too. There is another one on the other side of the dam.
