Annual Forked River Mountain Cleanup--Sunday, 21 April

No problem Ben. I was going to call you anyway and advise against bringing her. Where we are going and what we have to pick up would be hard on her. It is all block, brick, broken glass etc. Brutal work.

    Music for the day

Cool. I used to have the Last Waltz on VHS and someone taped over part of it. I need to get it on DVD with a big TV. Put some brews on ice. Turn that baby up! I need to subscribe to this. It used to be free (as a teaser). I think it's worth it. I'll wait a year then jump in...

Searching For A Cave In The Pines

I can't think of many more things that give me the shivers than some spooky, unknown cave off the beaten track that is not run for tourists. I was in PA one time (I think west of Philly) where there was a huge boulder field. Off to the side at the edge was a small opening in the rocks and you...

Annual Forked River Mountain Cleanup--Sunday, 21 April

Ben, the official meeting place is the Lacey Municipal Building, on Lacey Rd, at 8:30am. As it gets closer I will let everyone here who plans to be there know if we will still meet there, or somewhere closer to the target areas.

    Speed Bump

My Solara transmission traction light came on when I hit the ones in Mt. Holly last year and it never went off. Those are ridiculous. They are real honest to goodness bumps. You cannot go over them at 10 mph without wondering if you did damage.

Annual Forked River Mountain Cleanup--Sunday, 21 April

It certainly is that time of year again. About 19 years (+-) and still going on. Thankfully, the woods are a hell of a lot cleaner that they were back then. Anyway, both Chris (Hewey) and I will be leading separate teams this year if any of you want to help us. If you desire to get out of the...

Guy, look for evidence of glue along the margin of the flyleaf. Mine appears to be glued in.

    Forgotten Towns

Somewhere along the way I had lost my old paperback...Forgotten Towns. So I says to myself; how much is a hardcover? I found a first edition on AbeBooks for $10.48 and signed by the author. Strange how there is a page in the flyleaf shorter than the others where he signed it. Is this his...

    Hit and Run

I know the feeling Ben. Twice I've been hurt by other people's negligence, and I never followed up on it. I saw a guy do that with his truck to a ford escort in Forked River at A's hardware. He backed into it while the owner was in the store. Lifted the ford up a few inches and scraped it all...
