    Webbs Mill flooded again!

Incredible Guy. I think the beavers need to go. I don't see Cedar Creek gaining anything from their presence.

    Cloud People get Buck Wild

Interesting Evan. A refreshing turn. Is that an xylophone sound in the Oaks? I'm considering my own album, and have the tracks in my head: 01 Chigged in Warren Grove 02 I left my boots on the Plains 03 Doing the Hummock Hop 04 On top of Speedwell Dike 05 Snagged again in the Greenbriar 06 I...

Autumn Pinelands Hike: Turkey Swamp County Park

Nice. Great fall weather. Our weather may be cold and rainy at times, but we do get our share of the good ones. Hooray for the sun, and hooray for Autumn!

Very cool. I like those kind of shots. Was a bit windy today....I'll bet you guys made sure you landed before it twisted you around, right?

ridin to power lines nj pine barrens

I was leaning towards the parkway on the last one. Maybe Forked River or near Manahawkin. You can see the cars whizzing by. I ride those areas too on my dual sport, but I never make new trails or squeeze down those new ones just for the fun of it. And God strike me dead if I ever throw a can...

ridin to power lines nj pine barrens

That last video shows what the pines would become if we just opened it up to all. See the garbage? And the haphazard trails into the woods are a sign of things to come.

    Webb's Mill and Carusoeville

I meant with one side of the vehicle. They dip the left side into the stream as they are heading west along the road.

    Webb's Mill and Carusoeville

Al, the local name is Sweetwater Run. The darker gravel was brought in outside the pines recently to shore it up because people keep driving into the stream as they go by. That darker gravel ruined my day....as did the tree chopped into the stream last year....as did the beer cans in the...

    Rarities

Tom, without revealing the location (I'm gonna guess Warren Grove), what is it about the location that makes it so friendly to gentian? I was on a tour of the range once, and did see a lot in between these rows...down in moist swales.

Red Cedars and Faden's 1777 map of NJ

Gabe, I vote for the white in this particular case. The red cedar though (Juniper virginiana) is native, and certainly could have been seen.

    Piney Water

I know what you are saying...I'm just concerned about the tipping point that turns a pinelands lake/stream into something else.

    Piney Water

Don, I'm not sure the word healthy fits here. Is pristine healthy?

    Piney Water

That is very interesting Don. Here in Bamber, one of the streams has no fish in the delta. I never catch anything on that side of the lake. What do you use, a swimming pool test kit?

    It Could have been Worse

Well...does not always work with me. I usually email Guy where I'll be if I'm going in deep. But sometimes I just like to roam and ramble to heart's content. If it happens, well, it happens I guess. There is nothing like total freedom. How old are you Gibby? Do you work out? I work out 2 to 3...
