    And so it begins....

For every rulemaking, require a comprehensive discussion of the economic impacts the rule is expected to have in New Jersey. >>>lets say you want to rule to create a 90 foot stream buffer for certain streams because fish are dying from runoff. If the economic impact costs jobs because...

    Boots

Karl is right, its an individual thing. I rarely wear anything other than Lacrosse 18" in the pines: Above 45 degrees.........Lacrosse uninsulated (Grange). Below........................Lacrosse insulated (AlphaBurly). When I hike more mountainous terrain in NJ, NY, PA, I wear my...

    And so it begins....

Hmmm, I see what you mean. Sounds like a bitch session made up of Developers. Mr. Anthony (Sunday hunting is fine) Mauro for God's sake. Here their plan is to ensure businesses trump environmental policy: "Economic Impact • For every rulemaking, require a comprehensive discussion of the...

Didn't know you liked guitar so much Al. Here is a good one by Neil Young. PS: I liked the Clannad song a lot.

    ætna furnace, Tuckahoe

I don't get the tree. Is that a small tree growing out of the detritus that fell off the charging carts and pooled into a soil pile big enough to support a tree?

No, she was British. Check this link out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandy_Denny Whenever I want info on anything or anybody just do a Google search of what you are looking for with "Wiki" after it. In example, Sandy Denny Wiki or Peanut Butter Wiki or Pine...

    Music for the day

She is one of my absolute favorites Al. She died many years ago. Lead singer for Fairport Convention. Their album "Liege and Lief" is in my top 10 albums of all time. If you have a CD player in your SUV I'll bring it for you next time we get into the barrens.

    Flood paddle

Me too Mark. Exactly! Another instance that put the fear into me was a visit to some sort of dam and waterworks on the Savannah River in Georgia when I was about 5. That water far below tumbling and churning, angrily entering or exiting piping made me shudder. When I get near a water works, or a...

The Risley Branch, a PBX Hike

Good one Jeff! The part I don't like is that he sharpens his stick in the machine shop before each trip and after spearing them he holds them till they stop wiggling--while he chuckles. I actually took a few steps back when he got that woodchuck at the end by the cars.

The Risley Branch, a PBX Hike

A shot of Jeff chilling (no pun intended) on an icy bog. I always liked ice-skating—I used to do it a lot in Presidential Lakes. Problem is, you have to skate a couple days to get your legs back in shape to skate! Doesn’t he look like Darth Vader? Can anyone guess what Guy is doing? We...

I would not use it. The yearly subscription renewal is only to fatten their wallets.

    More mountain lion sightings

Al, I get what German is saying. It's just like us Christians--when someone tells us that Christ was just an ordinary man, we ask them to produce the body. Skepticism is warranted where German worked. By the way...I believe you saw that cougar. If you say it's so, its good enough for me my...

    Webb's Mill

I saw that in April 46'r, when the Forked River Mountain coalition cleaned up that roof somebody kindly dropped off in the middle of the road. We could not fit anything else in the dumpster. That is a piece of junk. Its in the woods in that little cutout.

    Wagon Trip to Edgepillock, 1892

Thanks for that explanation...I thought something was up. I actually like when people write or speak like that. It's why I like Dickens and Irving.

    Wagon Trip to Edgepillock, 1892

Thanks Jerseyman, interesting. Doesn't it seem to you that the Author's manner of speaking is a bit dated? His sentence structure and the words he uses seem more like 1820 than 1895. PS:...."these poor creatures are too apt to lay out their money for strong drink." Reminds me of Gabe. :)
