    GPS advice

C'mon Guys, you're pressuring him, and that's not right. He's got a little boy and is moving to a new house. Don't chide him anymore. Jeff, you can use my old etrex legend. I have another one I can use. If you like it, give me $30 and its yours. If you want a new one, give it back to me and...

Jim, I cannot figure out why there is so much space between the opening salvo of your post and your signature. Do you hit the space bar ten times before your name? bob

Former "Jersey Guy" taking over Don Imus' slot

Good he's gone. He is an obnoxious, egotistical, crude, self aggrandizing man. I won't miss him.

    Do deer ticks "nest"

Yeah, I forgot about that. Hundreds and hundreds. I had to use a stiff straw brush to scrape them off his legs. He had frontline on, so they were mostly dead by the next morning, but the amount was shocking. They were mostly small, about the size of this "O". I too, have never heard of...

    Warning: This is a rant

Very real post Chris, and spot on. I could not have said it better myself. I do see us deteriorating too. What is the answer? I don't know, but I will say this: We have a lot of stones trying to force our ways overseas when we have so much going on at home that needs our attention.

Open space costly for municipalities to maintain

I also agree with Boyd. Sounds to me like there is more to this than meets the eye. Whatever happended to Grass Roots organizations like the FORKED RIVER MOUNTAIN COALITION who clean up the land for free if needed. We own about 75 acres and never try to give it a freaking HAIRCUT!

    Eagle Tavern

Interesting material. Speaking of interesting, I'm betting Gideon Pharo was an interesting person. You don't get christened with a name like that, and end up managing a tavern in the Jersey Woods for the Speedwell Furnace working class without having an intesting life and reputation.

Burned area near Quaker Bridge Road

I like that area. Pretty big hike you guys did today! I got lost this morning in a swamp. I had to pull out my GPS. I was looking on the ground for an orchid and was not paying attention. I stood up and I did not recognize where I was or where the pine tree margin was.

And a headband! I currently have a dreamy look in my eyes and a goofy grin on my face. In-A-Godda-Da-Vidda is wailing in the background, incense is burning, and I'm sucking on the hookah! I pressed this plant today, then decided, aww, what the hell, let me see what it smells like burning...

PS: Guy, the police officer was jogging on the side of Lacey Road. A guy in a car hit him; said that he had bent down to pick something up off the floor or that the sun was in his eyes (I forget which). A tragedy.

    12 hours

I left at 8 am this morning, did not get back till 8 pm. Had another great day in the pines. On the way south on 206, they rerouted us at a fork, and the guy who lives at the fork on 206 was cursing all the cars who stopped in his yard to figure out what to do. He was way over the top...

Ahhh! A rare site down in our neck of the pines. One is more likely to see them driving an ATV with goggles and helmet. Not the same.

    Fire in Wharton

I find it odd. The woods do not appear to be dry over here. In fact, they are so lush that some of my haunts don't even look the same. It's high summer boys! My kind of season. Its so warm out I was slapping pine files off my head at 8:30 PM.
