While We Were Sleeping, Very Bad Things Happened

Any chance you got a pic of that one, Ed? Wondering if it also was done with heavy machinery like this one clearly was.

While We Were Sleeping, Very Bad Things Happened

I used Google image search to find out the exact model and specs: https://www.spypoint.com/.../product-link-micro-lte.html $60 cameras, 10 Megapixel, no video, no solar panel, but they have cellular. I've never used them before, but when I read that, I was thinking along the lines of what...

While We Were Sleeping, Very Bad Things Happened

Thanks Bob. I went into it knowing that showing any sort of emotion would become a distraction so I went in with the mindset that I would not show any, regardless of what was said. I went in assuming that the logic would speak for itself and people could make their own decisions on whether...

    Retirement Has Arrived

Congrats Guy! I emailed you the other day rather than texting you because I didn’t want to bother you at work, but here you were soaking up retirement! So happy for you!

    Missing Woman

I was just about to post the same thing. :-) This article subject is a little "click baity" but the interview with the mother provides a couple interesting tidbits. As was mentioned earlier, according to the mother, the police (allegedly), led her to believe that the daughter was not going to...

    Tax Parcel Website

I know I've told you this before, but I'll tell you again your site is awesome! I didn't even know about this particular view until I came back upon this thread after being annoyed about the name redaction. I was trying to plot a path in an area I wanted to explore and want to make sure I...

    Tax Parcel Website

Around 6 months ago all the property data finally disappeared from my app of choice, GaiaGPS, but still, after all this time, it still shows in OnX. I just recently went back to Gaia and told them about the "Property Class" field in the NJ GIS data. If they at least would display that in their...

DEP Announces Virtual Public Meeting to Launch Wharton State Forest Visitor and Vehicle Use Survey

Hey all, here is an image that overlays the 2015 and 2024 map. As you have noted, they are essentially the same thing. So the 1,600 surveys were considered, but had no effect on the new result? Is that what we are expected to believe?

    New Closure On Martha Road

Agreed. To me this is the DEP doing the right thing: protect the resource without preventing access to the resource.

Besides that, additional articles might a good add. Would happy to volunteer my services if we came some up with some topics.

What new things would you like to see here?

This is probably waaay beyond the scope of what you are asking, maybe this could be for the 2026 update :) I’ve been meaning to mention this for years, but you know, life. There is sooo much content buried in this forum on every conceivable PB topic. It would be interesting to point AI at the...

Disappearance and Murder in Hampton Park - 1907

I've been working on the history of Hampton Furnace and Hampton Park, chipping away it over the last couple years. Eventually I'l finish it, but in the meantime, I thought I would post some interesting things I've found along the way. Many may have heard of the robbery near Hampton in 1916, in...

    Hampton upper forge?

Nice work! I had wondered if the feeder canal was of the iron era or the cranberry era. It seemed to be a feat of civil engineering larger than some of the other nearby manmade features, similar scale to the canal that was used during the cranberry era to bypass the furnace pond on the Batsto.

    Hampton upper forge?

Yes, the straight line created by the roadbed/dam. “Flat spot” is probably a poor descriptor :), but basically it was a feature that I could verify on a map that was georeferenced. I did look around for slag, but couldn’t find any easily. (There would probably be a lot less of it than is...

    Hampton upper forge?

Kind of in reverse. I looked at the 1849 map and noted the flat spot (I.e. the straight line created by the dam/roadbed) and noted the structure was on the western end. Then I went to the aerials and dropped a pin at the western end of the flat spot and went to that spot using my GPS. I...
