Great find! The name "Park Island Canoeing Association" is interesting. I wonder which island was "Park Island?" None of them are named on Google Maps nor the historic topo in NJPB maps. I read the first few pages and enjoyed the account of traveling north via the Pennsylvania Railroad (present day Northeast Corridor)-my great grandfather worked for the PRR all his life and would have worked on trains running east to New York and west to Philadelphia. He lived on Monmouth Street not far from the Trenton Train Station.

Park Island is the one in the Delaware River across from Sanhickan Drive between Rogers Avenue and Afton Avenue. It was a scout camp for many years.
