A new "Then & Now" photo

Here is another Then and Now photo at a link below. The original photo on the right was taken around 1978 and the one on the left was taken yesterday. You can really see how the trees have filled in and how much work has been done on various roads around the pines. The roads of years ago were true pine barren roads and many of the popular roads today are fake

Anyway, this photo was taken right on the Lawrence Line on the road to the old Cedar Bridge fire tower. The location is here facing 539.

The poles in the old photo were there for electricity to the fire tower. After it was moved there was no need for the poles and they were cut down. In the second photo you can see one that is still showing today.

When I was back there last I was upset to see people using the field on the one side of the road as another road to avoid the few pot holes on the main road.

But nice picture I love these types of images.

Out of curiosity. Is there any history on the hunting cabin up Bryant Rd further. I saw a bunch of people there a few weeks ago and they all had quads with tree stands. I am assuming that portions of the land up there are private land?

I love the then and now Photo's! Guy, you must have enough for a picture book, "Then and now in the Jersey Pines" . I wish I would have taken more pictures when I was younger.

I was just curious if the land around there is private. I would have imagined using ATV's on public/protected land would be frowned upon. Never saw any posted signs along the trails up around there.
