Elaine Makatura, spokeswoman for the state Department of Environmental Protection, said the fire started in the Warren Grove area of Stafford Township around 2:15 p.m. and burned 2,500 acres by 4:30 p.m.

Bert Plante, a division fire warden for the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, said thousands more acres were likely to burn before the fire was out. "It's going to be larger. It has great potential to be much larger," Plante told The Associated Press.
I was going to hit parker preserve tomorrow is this close to the fire? I'm not super familar with that area.
Maybe we need a hike through there soon.

The Warren Grove target range in the Pine Barrens will remain closed until military investigators can learn why an F-16 pilot on a training mission Wednesday night mistakenly strafed a nearby intermediate school.

I have quite a few of those photo's of Bear Swamp Hill and the tripods that were givien to me a few years back. I posted one that shows the tripod and some sort of buggy in the background.
