I woke up in the middle of the night with chills, a fever and aches. My sinuses were also clogged. It's more likely that it's a sinus infection, I think (hope). Wouldn't it be too early to have any symptoms like that?
No. When I had it the symptoms included night sweats, but during the day I felt ok. Then the symptoms became worse and more often. Also, the only side effect from Doxycycline was sun spots on my skin. They recommended I stay out of the sun. Yeah right, and miss the Pickerel season? Don't be worried about side effects, they arent anywhere near as bad as Lymes, unless you're allergic.

4 weeks doxycycline

I'll be finishing my 4 weeks of doxy his week. So far, so good. Still have a bit of the rash and the bite site is noticeable. Along with the doxy, my doc recommended taking BACID( acidophilus) for the first 2 weeks, one tab twice a day. It's an otc probiotic that helps to keep your digestive system bacteria doing their job given that the Doxy is not friendly toward it. I've had no side effects at all.

Same here on the acidophilus. I take it within an hour of taking the antibiotic. Thank God for that stuff, I remember what penicillin did to me years ago before I knew to eat yogurt with it.

This hit me all at once. Yesterday morning I had trouble walking, staying awake, or even keeping my head up or eyes open. The Dr. ordered blood tests for babesiosis, erlichosis, and tularemia, as well as another Lyme test. He also wants me to get another Lyme test with my regular yearly check up next month. I have an awesome doctor, IMO.

Consistent with this, if you run into some Guinea Hens in the Pine Barrens, they may have been put there by me.

Seriously, why won't the DEP consider this as an option? NJ is loaded with deer ticks and Lyme. They won't eradicate them, but couldn't they help?

We were full of ticks today and Jessica forgot her "Tick Magnet." That is the greatest thing.

I remember my first round with Lyme. I never had those flu-like symptoms, but I would sleep 14 hours a day in the heat. And had headaches in the back of my head and a very stiff neck. I had got to stage 3 before I had effective treatment.

It is best that you catch it early as if it advances it can leave permanent damage.

My "night sweats" lasted about 2 weeks, but then started during the day. I remember feeling fine, putting a ceiling fan in our family room, turning it on and almost passing out under it. Mt temp was almost 105 and I was under a blanket when my wife found me. I took doxy for 4 months (at the time there was no established treatment regimen for lymes so my doctor was very aggressive with treatment). I was his first case ever. Thankfully I've had no symptoms since. It's been about 20 years.
