All,

I figured I would pass along an update on my ear. After the ER told me it was a hole in the ear drum, I waited to see if it would heal up. Unfortunately, it was not getting any better and I still had hearing loss. So tonight I went to the doctor to get a referral to go to a specialist, and the were shocked to find the branch is still stuck in my ear drum, or possibly stuck above it. They could not explain how the ER could not see that.

So tomorrow they are getting me the first available appointment to a specialist to have them try to remove it. I will keep you informed on how that goes later tomorrow.

Missed it? Did you go to a Proctologist by accident and he searched at the wrong end !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I would love to see a pic of that when it is removed.

Thank you for all the kind words.

It turns out the stick was a half inch long and when he pulled it out the pain was as severe as when it went it. I don’t recommend getting a stick in your ear! He let my wife and every other employee there see it before he pulled it out. The room was packed. Must be quite rare :) After removing it he informed me I was extremely lucky because if it had been slightly in either direction it would have damaged the bones permanently. And slightly deeper it would have released fluids causing severe vertigo. I have had that before for 5 weeks and that is not fun.

Then to the sound proof room for a hearing test which showed that I most likely will recover completely. The only loss of hearing is from my previous use of headphones while running loud machinery at work causing tinnitus. Because of that I have not used headphones in over 10 years.

Anyway, here is the culprit. I think that is part of the eardrum attached to it. Picture that being pushed and pulled through your ear. :bang::cry:

Life for those individuals who have had their ears damaged must be a nightmare. After the pain subsided I was so relieved it was over.

What an experience, thank the heavens you had some luck that it did not go in further.

Does you ear having packing in it with medicine on it currently ?

As i said previously, speedy recovery.
