I see you are getting ready to come with PBX Tom. Good, we'll be glad to have you.

When we did our explore along Bispham's Mill Creek, we were amazed at how fast that creek tumbles toward the main branch of the Rancocas. It must be a combination of the land fall and narrowness of the stream. Pretty neat.

I'm trying to get these chicken legs in shape for one of your treks.

Post 292 is familiar. Those things stick to your socks like glue. I have had them on me so bad you could not see my socks.

Bob, Your clues gave me a good idea of where to look and I had been by this area twice without finding anything.Luckily on Wednesday night while attending a meeting of the Pemberton Environmental Commission I met a botanist who told me exactly where to look. One subject brought up in the meeting was a rare fern along Rt.70 and white fringed orchids in Chatsworth being mowed due to lack of communication between townships and county agencies.

Do you remember the name of the Botanist?

Bob, I can remember the goofiest things to minute details but names don't sink in! He lives in this township and might not even be a botanist if some schooling is involved. I'll find out more at the next meeting. Here are some pics from today.005.jpg Polygala brevifolia

It was hard to focus on this one. View attachment 858

The flower in post 312 appears to be Sand Yellow-eyed Grass (Xyris caroliniana) the rare plant Bob and I found. They are rare and the area you are in is where they have been found I believe. Again, nice finds!

Xyris difformis (most likely. A hard genus to pinpoint without a scope, but the habit is right). I don't see it as X. caroliniana. The shape is not right, and I don't see any fringe from the lateral sepals.

Shows you what I know
