I just want to say how much I hate these things.

(Bass River SF trail on Friday. I did get them down from the tree. But for some reason - maybe the heat was getting to me - before stabbing them with my knife and bagging the carcasses, I held on and let them float behind as I made my way through a campground, beach area, and down the road back to the office. Maybe someone who saw would skip the balloons at their next party - or at least keep a better grip on them? Wishful thinking.)

On PBX hikes years ago I would pick them up and put them in my pocket to throw out later. When I was covered in ants I made the decision not to do that anymore. They stay where they are.

Every time I hike or paddle in any park, I inevitably find at least one mylar balloon and discarded plastic bottle :mad::mad:

I once found one on the ground near the Batona Trail trailhead. It was a big shark or fish balloon. Printed on the tail: For indoor use only. Do not release outdoors, or near electric power lines. (Like that's going to help...)
