Is there any interest in NJPB T-Shirts?

I'm thinking of having some made up, but I need to know if there are more than 10 people who would like one.

Price would probably be in the neighborhood of $20 each....

I may be interested, any design ideas? And is it possible to have the shirts made of polypropalene instead of cotton. I say this because I'd probably use it outdoors, and I dont wear cotton outdoors.

I haven't even begun to think about a design yet. One of these days I will sit down in front of Adobe Illustrator and come up with something cool.

The shirts will have to be cotton by virtue of it being the easiest to find a silk screener who will do small runs without charging me a fortune.

Ben,

I would suggest checking out www.cafepress.com I used them to create shirts and stuff for my band, and now have one with sax designs, just got the first commission check. funny I created one for myself, indicating an old nickname and that has sold pretty well... must be a frat or something.

it's print on demand so there is no $ outlay for you, there is a base price that covers the cost, and you can set the price higher to make a profit, once you have $25 in commissions they send a check. and the quality is Hanes T-shirts etc....(and setting up the shop(s) is free, though there are paid versions)

Cafepress uses the cheapest t-shirts known to man. If I am going to do anything it will be on shirts that will last more than 2 washes. :)

Just some thoughts, some years ago a close family friend was in this trade before he retired. I was fortunate to learn a bit of the politics. It seems no matter what the material quality, a run of one gross gets you a good number.
Your 20 bucks seems a bit high, although I would buy it anyway. All the same, your efforts deserve a profit, what the heck? Babies is expensive right? Not getting stupid with multiple colors works too. A six color print is obviously more involved than a two color. Keep the shirt colors basic as well, and as a rule especially for this crowd, stay away from lights. Run your shirt darker and your printing light. don't do any puff crap. If you must do cotton, stick with pre shrunk. It seems there are a person or two on the site that may offer some good freehand work. It's not that hard to burn onto a screen.
Anyone with other insights please feel free.
Whatever you do, I'm in. I'll take two if it matters. Just my 2 pence.

Well the idea was $20 including shipping. If I was to make any sort of money on this I am sure that it would be on the order of less than $1 per shirt.

The rates that I was looking at from this one silkscreener were high due to the fact that limited runs cost me a lot of money.

I dunno, maybe I will look into the Cafepress thing again.

Ben,

I'm not trying to sell you on Cafepress, but once you come up with a design, set up a free store, upload the image and buy one for yourself to check the quality, and see how it actually looks on a shirt. I will say the first shirt I bought has faded a bit, the second was a baseball shirt and as my wife tells me I don't have the body for that! (it narrows the shoulders) but the printing on that one was different, much heavier ink, and I cannot remember which process it was.

but like I suggested try it for yourself if you dont' like it you're not out much more than $10.

Yeah, that is cool, I'm in. Can it say something like "I hiked across the pine barrens and all I got was this stupid t-shirt."

I'm kidding.

Ben..I would be interested in at least three including Jessica's, so I think you have your 10 shirts sold. And I will buy any unsold and ordered shirt that fits me if anyone who has posted on this thread so far bails on you.

Basically, there is no reason not to forge ahead on this.
