I have been looking to up grade very soon. Now I have a cobra gps 100, it's like the atari 2600 of the gps world. I was also looking at the 60Cx. Cabelas had them last fall for $450.00 for the bundle.

The gpsstore.com is usually one of the cheapest around and Cabelas on of the highest.
Make sure you get the 60CSX.
I might find an even lower online price but I'm a fan of brick and mortar shop buying myself.

One word and an alphanumeric combination:
Garmin 60CSX
End of story.
I would put money on the Oregon vs the 60csx in a face down drop test on a rock myself. I have both. The Oregon feels every bit as solid as the 60csx and I think it has an advantage in fact. The case is more rounded (fits the hand better) and has a rubberized finish. And there are no physical buttons on the Oregon to get damaged or worn out.
But most important, the glass screen on the 60csx is mounted flush to the surface which means it will probably break with a direct hit against a rock or concrete. The Oregon screen is plastic and feels very tough. But it is also recessed, so it's less likely to make contact if it hits face down.
I have not read about any durability problems on the Oregon, have you? It has the same water resistance and shock ratings as the 60csx. I realize that you love your 60csx, especially if it's been your faithful "pal" on lots of hikes. It *is* a great GPS. But many of the negative comments about the Oregon come from people who have not really used one.
Another regular member on the site here just did some comparison shopping of his own and decided to go with a new Oregon. Maybe he will share some impressions when it arrives?
