That's good. Walmart took a long time doing that, but it seems from what you say they really studied it.

Regarding Target, that is a weird place to shop for groceries. Iv'e had to stop in at the one in Manahawkin a few times over the years, and it seems all their food is packaged junk and their fruits are not fresh. Poor selection too. Seems grocery in there was an afterthought.

I have a slip of paper wherein I'd write the tally of cases and deaths day by day.

On March 17, we had 6,000 cases, and 109 deaths. Today, just one month later, we have 665,000 cases and 34,000 deaths.

Where are you getting that 34,000 figure from? Not to split hairs, but Johns Hopkins has it at 29,000. Just wondering....

What is the source of their information?

Data as of April 16, 7:00 p.m. EDT.
This chart will update twice daily, once before noon Eastern and again between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. with the final numbers for the day.
Sources: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state officials and NBC News

They also count US territories and in certain states individuals repatriated from Wuhan, China, and the Diamond Princess cruise ship.

So they are inflating the numbers? Just a suggestion, follow the science, not the media.

CNN uses JHU data.

JHU now has a US based tracking map with drill down to individual counties.

I don't have an opinion regarding inflating the numbers. Never even crossed my mind that anybody would inflate numbers. I use the media because it's handy if I'm flipping between channels.

I'm sure your first thought when I posted this was, "how can I prove him wrong, and make him look foolish, and I'll remind him to not look at the media but instead follow science. Yeah, that's what I'll tell him, it will make me look smarter than him".

Have a great day.

Al, that NJ.com one is dated 15 March. I could not find my friends wife in there from Burlington County, and happened to look at the date at the top. Do you have a later one?

The real media reports the science. Not spin. Interesting number. 37, 079 dead in the US this morning. Saturday, 8:30 AM. Anecdotal story. My wife works with an exposed nurse who went to the hospital and was thankfully released and came home. When she came home she discovered that two people she knew died of Covid 19.

My daughter read this on twitter.

A husband put up a map and gave his wife a dart. Told her to throw it and anyplace it landed they would go there for two weeks after Covid was over. Turns out they are spending two weeks behind the refrigerator. ;)
