I just aquired a new etrex legend c as a christmas gift, and I'm having problems with the software. Everything is brand new and out of the box, but when i try to run the software it tells me:
"there is a problem with the MapSource registry. please re-install MapSource and start it again".
of course i have done so and continue to get the same error message. I've uninstalled using the cd, using control panel and have restarted the computer between installations to cleanse the registry. NO LUCK.
All i can figure at this point is that garmin packaged a lousy cd . . . but the "Trip and Waypoint Manager" isn't available for download from their site . . . only updates and patches as far as i've seen. I REALLY don't wanna have to send everything back when the only thing defective is the lousy software.
Anyone able to offer suggestions or help me out??
