* Until 430 PM EDT.

* At 357 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Paulsboro, or
7 miles southwest of Gloucester City, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Wind damage to
roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible.

* Locations impacted include...
Deptford, Voorhees, West Deptford, Glassboro, Lindenwold,
Hammonton, Bellmawr, Woodbury, Pitman, Clayton, Berlin, Tabernacle,
Shamong, Paulsboro, Magnolia, Westville, Egg Harbor City,
Woodstown, Woodbury Heights and National Park.

This includes the following highways...
New Jersey Turnpike between exits 2 and 3.
Interstate 76 in New Jersey near mile marker 0.
Interstate 295 in New Jersey between mile markers 16 and 29.
Atlantic City Expressway between mile markers 23 and 44.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Delaware, northern
Delaware, southern Delaware, northeast Maryland, central New
Jersey, southern New Jersey, east central Pennsylvania and
southeast Pennsylvania.

There is an enhanced risk for severe thunderstorms later this
afternoon and this evening. Damaging winds, large hail, and an
isolated tornado are possible.

Several instances of flooding are possible, especially in urban and
poor-drainage areas and near vulnerable small creeks and streams.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
Northwestern Ocean County in southern New Jersey...
Southeastern Mercer County in central New Jersey...
Southwestern Monmouth County in central New Jersey...

* Until 730 PM EDT.

* At 644 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Edinburg, or 7 miles east of Trenton, moving
southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
Trenton, Jackson, Howell, Hightstown, Allentown, Roosevelt,
Cassville, Adelphia, Clarksburg, Vista Center, Edinburg, White
Horse, Windsor, Twin Rivers, Six Flags Theme Park, Imlaystown,
Mercerville-Hamilton Square, Cream Ridge, Freewood Acres and
Jacksons Mills.

This includes the following highways...
New Jersey Turnpike between exits 8 and 8A.
Interstate 195 in New Jersey between mile markers 1 and 28.
Interstate 295 in New Jersey between mile markers 61 and 67.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Multiple tornadoes may have slammed state during powerful thunderstorms

At least one tornado formed in Pennsylvania and made its way over the Delaware River into New Jersey, while other suspected twisters formed in Ocean County and Burlington County.

CONDUCT SEVERAL STORM SURVEYS ACROSS THE REGION TOMORROW. THE
SURVEYS ARE IN RELATION TO SEVERAL SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THAT MOVED
THROUGH THE AREA ON THURSDAY, JULY 29TH. THE PLAN OF WHERE THE
SURVEY TEAMS WILL GO IS STILL BEING FINALIZED. ONCE THIS HAS BEEN
DECIDED, ANOTHER PNS WILL BE RELEASED WITH FURTHER DETAILS.

Not much at my place either. A ton of rain north of me quite a bit south of me and I was split right down the middle. Those people in Burlington County and up that way got devastated.

Nothing at all down here, got some light rain for a short while then it cleared up, I went out for a walk and saw a nice sunset. Looks like they had a rough time up in Bucks County and also parts of Mercer and Ocean Counties.

...Several Confirmed Tornadoes from July 29th...

The National Weather Service office in Mount Holly, NJ had a total
of 5 survey teams investigating damage across the region today,
which resulted from several severe thunderstorms on Thursday, July
29th.

Detailed write-ups, including the path length and path width, for
each confirmed tornado will be worked on during the day Saturday,
and will be issued via Public Information Statements (PNS) when
completed.

Preliminary information regarding the confirmed tornadoes:

1) EF3 tornado in the Bensalem/Trevose, PA area (Bucks County)
with peak winds up to 140 mph. The most intense damage occurred at
car dealerships and an adjacent mobile home park.

*This is the first EF3 tornado in Bucks County, however there was
an F3 tornado in Bucks County on May 28, 1896.
*This is the first F3/EF3 tornado in PA since July 17, 2004.
*Some previous F3/EF3 tornadoes in our forecast area occurred in
Limerick, PA (Montgomery County) in July 1994 and Lyons, PA
(Berks County) in May 1998.

2) EF2 tornado in Waretown, NJ to Long Beach Township, NJ (Ocean
County) with peak winds up to 115 mph. The EF2 damage was found
in the High Bar Harbor area of Long Beach Island.

3) EF2 tornado near New Hope, PA (Bucks County) then across the
Delaware River into Mercer County toward the Ewing, NJ area with
peak winds up to 115 mph.

4) EF1 tornado in the Plumstead Township, PA (Bucks County) area
with peak winds up to 90 mph.

5) EF1 tornado in the Cedar Bridge, NJ area of Barnegat Township
(Ocean County) with peak winds 100-105 mph.

6) EF1 tornado in Windsor, NJ (Mercer County) with peak winds up
to 105 mph.

7) EF0 tornado in Northeast Philadelphia, PA (Philadelphia County)
near the intersection of Grant Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard
with peak winds of 60-80 mph.

On my way to work this morning, the south side of 72 was torn up pretty good for a half mile. Tops of trees off, power poles snapped, etc.

How New Jersey Saw Supercells That Looked Like They Belonged In Oklahoma

Unusually intense storms churned across New Jersey on Thursday evening. One of the storms produced a "large and extremely dangerous" tornado near the state's capital.

I got a surprising amount of rain last night, about 3 inches. The forecast was wavering all over the place during the day, as high as 2" but then was reduced to only 3/4 inch.

The rain started here about 11:10PM and was spitting, and by 11:15 it was fully raining. Not sure how much we got in the next 45 minutes; however, from midnight until 5:30 this morning when it stopped, we received .96 inches.

I dont have sprinklers and usually after the first 90 degree day in June my lawn is a nice light brown. This year even in August it is still a nice dark green because of all the rain. Unfortunately because of the rain my pool keeps turning the same color as the lawn.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of northern Delaware...New Jersey...and Pennsylvania...
including the following areas...in northern Delaware...New Castle.
In New Jersey...Atlantic, Camden, Coastal Ocean, Cumberland,
Eastern Monmouth, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex,
Morris, Northwestern Burlington, Ocean, Salem, Somerset,
Southeastern Burlington, Warren, and Western Monmouth. In
Pennsylvania...Berks, Delaware, Eastern Chester, Eastern
Montgomery, Lehigh, Lower Bucks, Northampton, Philadelphia, Upper
Bucks, Western Chester, and Western Montgomery.

* From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through late Saturday night.

* A slow-moving weather system will affect the region today and
Saturday. Thunderstorms are likely to develop this afternoon and
evening, with additional storms possible tonight through much of
Saturday. With hot and humid conditions in advance of this system,
storms will likely produce torrential downpours. As storms are
also expected to be slow-moving, there is elevated potential for
localized flash flooding, especially in more vulnerable urban
areas and in locations that received substantial rainfall during
the past couple of weeks.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
