Good post for Halloween. My wife's aunt insists that the war of the worlds took place at Browns Mills and no matter how much I tell no she insists that she is correct. There is a statue or something there telling about it she says. Some how it must have eluded me in the 10 years I lived there.

I used to eat lunch in the park by the statue every day when I worked up that way. There was/is a deli that made the best sourdough sandwiches right near it.....

I think the real invasion took place here in Browns Mills and H.G. Wells was hired to draw attention away from it. That must be the reason for the large number of freaky people and happenings around here!

The original H.G. Wells story had the Martians landing in England. Orson Welles moved the location to Grovers Mills.
