Any ideas to make this special? Tom
I would do it on the bank of a rushing cedar stream, perhaps at a small waterfall. The second fall at Harrisville is nice, you can stand on the little concrete thing by the old gaging station if its still there. Hopefully the sun will be out and reflecting off the water, with the dark cedars in the background.
Another idea, take her to the Mullica River casino, then after lunch take her over by the Mullica on the bank and propose there.
Or the bridge at Double Trouble, propose to her there while both of you are looking upstream. Tell her that the water has come a long way from its source, and that now you want to go a long way with her. You could do the same thing from the Batsto spillway.
Or take her in a canoe on Bamber Lake, and go upstream on the Webb Mill branch a ways with a bottle of wine and 2 nice glasses. Tie the canoe to a tree in the middle of that beautiful stream. Have something light to eat and some wine, and then remark how beautiful the day is, the stream is, and then how beautiful she is, and that you just cannot see living without her. I will let you use my canoe.
Another nice spot is the dock in front of the old cabin at Wells Mills Park. Tell her that the cedars on the opposite shore are a picture in grace and beauty, and that the only thing you see around you that surpasses it is her.
Sorry to get carried away Tom, it sounds like a great moment. Live it well, be romantic. Give her something to remember.
