It has been a while. Since I am seeking help from this forum elsewhere, I thought I would give a little back. Thanks everyone.

You have outdone yourself. If you'd like to know what type of caterpillars they are (do you know?) You or I could submit the pics to Bug Guide webstite and the professionals there would ID them. They usually have an ID within hours of posting.

were the caterpillars taken in the Barrens?
what time of year and where? I have been going through the site but it is huge. With date and place I can use the filters to weed out the caterpillars myself hopefully.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I have the ID to most things on my flickr page. These were taken this summer in Warren Grove and Stafford Forge. The first one is a Black Swallowtail Papilio and the second (with the red head) is Datana Major: Larvae.

Really good stuff. I always like the uniqueness of your photos.

PS: I just saw your photo of the American Avocet today. That is such a great shot with the flowers in the background and his stately walk. Well done.

Wow, some great photos here. I wish I could afford a nice lens to take some close-up shots like this. I can take some OK shots with my older Canon Rebel, but the lens just barely passes. I certainly can't do good shots of insects. I love those!

All my macro shots are taken with a Canon SD400 point and shoot. You only need a steady hand and patience.

Some of those landscape photos are just astonishingly beautiful. Fantastic work. People think New Jersey begins and ends on the NJ Turnpike, but look at that beauty. Very nice.

Great photos! I couldn't pick a favorite, but leaned towards the Bittern. My wife is the sharp eyed one to spot these camo'd birds.
