Trail Maps

Wondering if there was any trail maps that I can print out?
I have GPS, so plotting a course is simple. But knowing where im going before I go would be nice...

Do you mean topgraphic maps?

You can print out some at http://www.topozone.com.

You can also get a program like USAPhotoMaps, download, and print topos from there.

The ranger station at Atsion and the visitors center at Batsto have full USGS quads for $5 each.

I like ExpertGPS for the PC. You can plot your routes and waypoints on a USGS or aerial background and then load them into your GPS. I store all my waypoints, routes and tracks for later use. It’s easy to copy and paste data to other files so you upload only the data you need in the field. And of course you can print out a map with your waypoints, etc. on the topo map or aerial.

I’ve tried a few free programs but have found this one easiest to use. It’s been the best $60 I’ve spent for all the use I get out of the program. I’m thinking of purchasing the GIS pack that’s available.

Google Earth is pretty helpfull too. Most of Wharton is mapped out.
