Billy why do you do that to me? Thems the ugliest polaroids youse ever posted...
Alfie

I didn't do anything to the photos, I swear! They're mussed up because your high heels kept kicking water back and onto my lens.

Whip

PS Finally, a couple of the photos taken of the vernal pond we visited last Tuesday. Al and I both preferred the vernal swamp (post #51 on previous page) for atmospheric beauty and overall seductivity, but this pond is only a couple hundred yards from the swamp and the pair makes for a nice one-two punch.

Thanks Whip.

The house foundation in the Herman City Glasssworks Industrial complex (and piney emporium) was put in as I understand it, by a squatter when Wharton (hack, patooie :argh: robber baron that he was!) was owner of the property! There's a small spring maybe 100 foot upriver we used to clean out whenever we'd pass through going to Uncle Rod's for fishing or stories. It was always cold water in the hot summer days of my yewt. It's just below 3 wrecks I've seen at low tide (one known as "The Two Marys" , and another possibly the "Argo"). Budd and I reminisced about them a few weeks back when I first saw them on another thread here. Nice picture from the river side. Is the brick arch still along part of the factory wall? might have fallen since last time I was there. I know there's a ballest stone pile near the channel, off that house foundation. Good fishing there too!

a canadian! have you ever been to the bob marshall wilderness complex just south of glacier park montana?Thats my dream trip there,I also wouldn't mind getting up to jasper and banff parks either.I like grizz and so's my wife. She;s bear nuts. took her to UP the last two years and let her play with black bear cubs at a bear ranch.got picks of us feedin em.She was in heaven, she loves bears as much as i love snakes.
Crocodile Alfie

I haven't done anything with Montana except drive through it (yahooooo!). Worked two summers at Banff. Pretty, but overrun with tourists unless you get into the backcountry. Up there . . we don't play with the bears. :)
You'd like BC. No far aints. Enough wilderness so a person can breathe. But nothing as unique and charming as the Pines.

when was you last in the pines Glo?
The big fight with the pines is getting out of earshot of people. It's easy to git to where no one else will follow but you still hear cycles and big trucks with engine retarders on and if you can get away from cycles and truck noises theirs always the planes. The only time whip can record plane free is after midnight till about 6 am and then here they come again.I've checked the flight maps and theres hardly no flight paths over the Bob or over most of BC.The only time I've ever seen a sky without jets is during four days of 911.It's ashame we have to have something like that to get a quiet day in the woods.I once spent four days in the okefenokee swamp and the lack of planes was awesome.their were a few but maybe one every few hours not a constant procession the same with most of wv and then theirs the light thing. We have hardly any stars here.you have to go to the top of dolly sodds in wv to get a real starry sky.Whip has scopes but he never uses em anymore because if it's not south jerseys nasty weather ruining it it's the light pollution.Yes you can't beat the barrens for purtiness but enjoy it with ear plugs in and when it gets dark just go to sleep.

speaking of high heeled shoes I once tracked a man in sneakers and hopefully a girl in high heeled shoes down a sand/mud beach along the delaware bay.you could see where the girl was fighting and stumbling as her heel would head for bottom,i could imagine the scene as the not to bright woman fought with her less then appropriate footwear.I should've remembered this and left my heels at home that day.sorry for the incovenience and those baggy carhart pants i had on have to go.Next time it's pumps and speedos for me whip.get your WIDE angle lens ready! Do you think I can fit both gps's and my water bottles in a purse? That nasty rucksacks gotta go.

WAIT just a minute! Consider your fans, both of them. And the viewing public.
Vernal ponds à l’Alfie is one thing, but à l’Alfreda au naturel is quite another. PG 13! Slag this thread? Besides, the far aints’ll getcha all the faster: yum . . . yum . . . Alfreda-sauced.

Al, Will you be getting a Brazilian bikini wax first? Either way I'm sure Billy is going to end up poking his eyes out with a hot soldering iron after seeing that! BTW, what you call aints, up here in NW Burlington Co. we call antymires. We don't have the "far" ones but the carpenter ones that will eat your house out from under you.

The far ain't ain't made it here yet Glo but according to scientists that study them they say their on the way. They have now found far aint colonies in extreme southeastern virginia and they believe they won't stop till they run out of sugar sand up around long island.I done told the wife.when the aints move in we're movin out.See ifn I kin shack up with some of my crazy kin in wet virginny. In any case your right about speedos not being aint friendly, perhaps I should stick with the hor pink jump suit,of sourse then the bees will be all over me (Sigh) whats a crossdressin bushwacker supposed to do?

I thought of a bikini wax job but Billy says he likes me hairy just like I am on the other hand he says I do need to get rid of the unibrow.Tell me does it hurt much? I am a sissy when it comes to pain.
The aints that chased me when I was with Guy that day were Allegheny mound aints.Their all over west virginny but their nests are smaller there. Here they only seem to be in the upper manumuskin watershed and their nests git huge!I understand they will give a good bite but they don't sting with their rear eneds like a far aint does.I didn't give them the chance to see what they could do,I fled like a banshee and since I didn't have my high heels on that day I made good my escape(I don't cross dress around Guy,just Billy)and left Guy and Jess to their fates.

Alouetta? Where’d SHE come from?
Don’t you think your psyche’s going to get overcrowded? All them chatterin’ female voices will spook the frogs, the owls, and maybe even Billy. He’ll have to leave you home. :jeffd:

But if you’re serious about that unibrow:

As Alfie has mentioned on another thread, my computer was zapped by a bolt of lightning. RIP, Dell. Alfie seems to think it was an act of a supreme being. I think it's only piss poor luck.

As Arnie sez, I'll be back.

Today's swamp session was rained out. Alfie probably had a point this morning, responding to my calling out wet by barking that I'd be getting soaked in the swamp anyway. He added, "So what's the big deal, Sissy?"

Rednecks are tough.

I felt guilty as poop, but went back to bed and slept like a baby.

At least the rainy day gave me an opportunity to create another Alfie painting. I think I'll call it, "Getting ready to get wet in a swamp on a dry day." Copies can be had if one begs and pays me $799.95 (unframed) or $999.95 (framed). Send me a personal message if interested. Proceeds go to my TastyKake Acquisition Fund.
