Near Mt. Misery
Hey Bob,
I don’t have my tracks but I entered on 679 and walked the south shore of the merigold lake. Then I continued west through the cedar swamp ( huge mountain laurel in there and an abundance of partridge Berry)
Then cut south to the “airplane”.
Then west to mink path road. There is an overgrown trail on the south side.
The banks of the airplane are thick and wet. It looks to be a spung but the shape is very un-spungish. It was a little tough in knee highs to investigate it closely from the ground.
Perhaps it was a spung that was distorted from past human activity.

If you go Bob and want someone along let me know. There are a few stone nearby I want to check out. BTW, Al and I have been semi close to that in 2012 and Jess and I went in 2013. But we did not get near the plane.

Stones to look for nearby.

This was our visit nearby the plane.

A few years ago I entered Mink Path from North Maple Ave. There was a house at the end before it turned to a trail. I went to the powerlines and did some botanizing to the NE, then I did the SE section....and my phone rang. It was the guy from the house, he asked me to get off that section as it's private. He was nice about it, so you have to be careful.

That is correct. We did not know that the power lines in that area is private property and the power line company lease the land from the property owners. So we walked the line and got stopped by the land owner. We buttered him up and he told us we could go back which we did. We found the JC stone partially underwater.

Keep in mind as mentioned before, in the late 1800s Jerseyman had warned us that many land owners with the first name that began with "J" would inscribed the letter "EYE" in place of a J. If you look closely at the below link the JC stone says "EYE" C.
