Pines; Bamber area
You must have been checking out Tarkiln Bogs. I guessed at Belleplain because I used to live there and knew you have been hanging around in cape may County lately. Have you checked out the gorgeous Barrens live old Cranberry bog on West Creek yet? There are several nice old bogs in the Belleplain area.
I was doing some searches south of Tarkiln about 10 years ago. Lately I've been in some remote pond areas and under powerlines. I'm sure you've been there with Gerry.

Well yeah, the entire state is under extreme fire watch due to zero rain in many, many days.

Oh my - especially the Pine Barrens! I didn't know they ever man fire towers any more. I don't recall seeing one manned since the late 1960's when I climbed up to talk to a fire ranger in the Catskill mountains. He told me he majored in forestry in college and one of my ancestors was a forester in Europe, so I decided to major in forestry, but that's as far as that went. The Pine Barrens used to catch fire pretty regularly and I saw myself how amazingly quickly the forest rejuvenated. That must be why the Plains were so much lower back in my days down there, as you can see in my avatar picture which was taken over 50 years ago.

Actually I was probably there before I met him,I lived there back in the mid eighties and again in the early 90's and used my time there to thoroughly learn thos woods which were new to me till I met my ex wife who is from there. Then Guy and I did a bit of stone searching there in the early 2000's as well. I Must say to me it seems the Belleplain area is the briar and chigger capital of the Barrens but they do have some nice cedar swamps and some very pretty old planted white pine groves in the area.
