This may be old news to some, but the NJ Outdoors website now allows reservations at all of the Wharton campgrounds. I'm not sure when the change took effect, but it's about time. I thought it was weird no announcement was ever made. They certainly aren't shy about publishing closures...

I normally park on the east side, on the little plateau behind the brown waypoint sign. I would say most park on the west side of the bridge nearer the canoe launch.

Anyone have recent experience with road conditions on Middle Rd or Goodwater, between Batsto and QB? Any bad washouts or bottomless holes?

I read that. However if you try to make a reservation for any date at all, no matter how late in the year, the campgrounds I mentioned are blocked out.

Ok, found it. It looks like some are accepting reservations and some aren't. Godfrey, Hawkins, Goshen, and Bodine are still showing up as closed on the reservation website. Mullica River and Lower Forge (maybe others also) are open as of June 1.

Now, nine months later, has any word come from Trenton on the primitive campgrounds?
