    Vikings!!!!!!!

My sister did the DNA test, but mostly I account for my viking lineage on the following criteria: 1)I am mostly Swedish 2)Everytime I am in a small coastal town I need to resist the urge to pillage.

    Hunting Bucks

Very nice report Tracker Jim!! I had been to the Oswego Gun Club with PBX and I vaguely recall older foundations in the area. So that was the Bucks Tavern. Nice find. It is also a reminder to never overlook the possibility that one area can be home to ruins from more than one time period. I...

    "Haunted" Carranza Memorial

sounds like fun. I think friendship might even be a bit spookier than the memorial, but either will work i suppose. depending on what you decide to set up you just want to consider anybody going to the site before you do. the memorial gets quite a bit of traffic (relatively speaking). The...

The Woods Of Atsion Meadow; a PBX Hike.

A big thanks to Guy for designing a great hike!! Just to keep things in perspective with the cedars that we found....which were exceptionally large. this is the mutha which measured 9'8.75" about 10 years ago. Steve is about 6'5" and weighs about 26o lbs in this photo Here I am 5' 11"...

    Rockwood Inverted

Very cool. it is neat when a mistake turns into art. I almost like the inversion as much as the truth. Next time I am out near rock wood I am going to hike the whole thing doing a hand stand to replicate the effect. I'll have some serious guns when i done too.

PBX guys, I need a way into the bog

I would agree with Bob. With PBX we often pull dead trees over to form a bridge. I have done it alone also. It is actually a lot less work. I think you really ought to get some hip waders, especially if you plan to spend more time in these bogs. I know that I go through hip waders quickly...

    OpenTrailsNJ Volunteer Work

click on the link and go down to "open trails ideas for Wharton State Forest" A very well organized and precise plan. I would encourage everyone to seriously consider "getting on board" with these people.

    An Aussie recovery device

I like how they used an 80lbs girl to demonstrate it. I have seen a similar device before and I have heard of the old piney trick of using ratchet ties or a tow strap around the wheel to do the exact same thing. I would be concerned about damage to the axle putting that much torque on a...

    How old are you?

I found one of those in the pine plains once, might be the same one Guy has pictured. I didn't know what it was. I thought it kind of looked like a rocket ship:)
